Since the last update, I’ve notice on every flight that the magenta nav course both on the MFD and VFR Map, disappears after a few waypoints have been passed. In fact, I’ve noticed it appears for the last leg of the plan. The autopilot continues to follow the route correctly but no magenta line is visible.
I just did a fresh install of Windows and the Sim and made sure everything was all setup and ready to go and yep lost the Magenta line mid flight on the stock a320 first flight no mods nothing.
Mouse cursor feels about 30Hz still and the performance inside and out of the cockpit is horribly degraded plus now it’s stuttering even at higher altitudes. Bank angle is still wrong on the a320 AP too. It banks at MAX angle it’s kinda scary lol. My cargo was moving around again
Yes mine too, but otherwise the sim is OK and the Auto Pilot follows the flight plan. I started the flight at Athens airport but the line before PINDO is gone Maybe is supposed to be that way.
I’ve seen that, yesterday in fact. I’m not sure what triggered it. Usually you will have a white line on one side of a waypoint, and magenta on the other, indicating the leg you are on. One of these waypoints for me was a touch, and go. I landed, took off, and the white line for the previous leg had gone.
I’m wondering if this is a part of the blank screen bug issue, after update 3 there is the published known blank screen on start bug which requires a restart of the flight when it happens. What I’ve found is that even with a blank nav screen, the route is often still there and the AP can follow it in nav mode even though it’s not visible! As if the screen is actually fully dimmed rather than not powered.
Did a flight yesterday and about three legs into the flight the course line disappeared. I did notice that a magenta line was drawn on the last leg of the flight. Regardless the active leg was still correct and the autopilot was managing the flight correctly. Then about three legs from the end of the flight, the track came back and showed correctly from that point on.
This is a definite bug, added by the recent update.
I did notice that also, but adding now that it is always showing the last leg for me if I zoom out, and whether it shows or not, it still follows course.
Depends. If you have reported it to Zendesk (support link at the top of this page) it will. If it’s not been reported to Zendesk, then likely it won’t.
I’ve noticed this issue as well. It still continues to fly your plan regardless.
In my case, I have Navigraph open on my other screen with my course plotted, so I can follow my progress there right on my approach plate. And you can do the same with Little NavMap.
While it’s definitely an annoying issue, it’s not quite a show stopper. Now if it were to stop following your flight plan, that would be another issue altogether.
The irony is this is a new bug that was introduced in an update that for months had been touted as being THE update where the Garmins would finally be fixed.
Difficult to refer to Little NavMap when you are in VR. I tend to rely on the VFR Map window to determine my route direction by positioning it in the plane for easy reference.
I’ve been trying to work out why my exported flight plan from a MSFS web app I’ve built is not showing up in the G3X and G1000 fully (G3000 works). Basically if youadd a custom waypoint to a flight plan (e.g. in my program or little nav map or a MSFS POI) that has more than 6 characters, you will not see the magenta line drawn to that point.
My question to you… is the line that is disappearing going to a custom waypoint with more than 6 chars?
