Microsoft regularly makes available World Updates and the release notes list dozens of lovingly-created points of interest. Now that there is a good helicopter freely available (Airbus H135) like to do some leisurely sightseeing. Trouble is, I don’t know where most of them are! The other day it took me half-an-hour to pinpoint the Glenfinnan Viaduct (in the north-west Scottish Highlands) using internet searches and maps.
Life is too short to devote that much time to dozens of other points of interest. Is it too difficult to produce a downloadable map naming said POIs with nearest aerodrome (ICAO code) and direction to fly?
You can find POI’s in the world map.
You can also see the POI markers while flying (if you’re close enough) by enabling them in Options:Assistance:POI:Landmark.
Alternatively, go to Acivities:Discovery Flights from the main page to see many landmarks in concentrated areas.
Also check out BushTalk Radio. This is a free add-on that gives you audio information about POI’s in the world taken from Wikipedia as you fly over them.
Maybe also Grand Tour Flight Planner could be helpful. That’s a free tool that helps you plan scenic flights.
BushTalk Radio, you can import POIs into LittleNavMap and searching/planning your flight
Flightspots could be helpful too
