Just some suggestions:

  1. If you’re not running vsync, consider locking it at 60fps. The sim continues rendering the background images on main menu and if unlocked, usually it’s been happening at max GPU cycles to the tune of 100+ fps.

  2. Are you overclocking any components? Run them at factory clock. Check your RAM settings in BIOS and turn off XMP for example.

there exist soooooooo many topics about these sympthom.

In main menu is a high-system load because of these useless background hanger rendering.
The most common issue was, that users GPU run at these point in overheat ( if not in main-menu, then later in-flight ).

Therefore the hint to fix the “sympthom” : limit your fps in nvidia control center, as @CasualClick mentioned. ( I recommend to set both value: max fps and max background fps (if window is in background , thus can be much lower))

If that will help, you should find the real root cause at your system. Beside of GPU there a other components which can over-heat too. Possible is also your RAM… overcloacked 3600’er sticks are a common issue pool…
