Major Flaw (How Do I Turn Off Multiplayer)

There are 2 different types of MSFS users. Those that view it as a way to fly as realistic as possible, in my case with a PMDG 737 on long flights using Simbrief flightplans and those who view it as a arcade type game.

Unfortunately Asobo has chosen to mix both together, which completely spoils the immersion and realism.

What prompted me to write this is that after a 1 hour flight and lined up for a 2 AP Autoland, someone decided to land a small prop plane on the same runway and made the TCAS abort the landing.

Am I the only one that would like a switch to turn off the gamers?

You might be.

Because there is one.

That’s very easy to solve by turning off Multiplayer. You can find the option in the “Data” tab of “General Settings”.

Where?? Pray tell…

Hello @Kaptajnen1583,

If you are concerned about other sim pilots negatively impacting your personal experience, we have given you the option to fully disable multiplayer from the Flight Conditions menu. If you switch to this mode, you will not encounter other simmers (who may or may not be choosing to fly in a realistic manner), and nobody will interfere with your flight.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

You really should get a pilot’s license and fly for real.

I am sure there are many more types of MSFS Users (if you feel the need to categorize them)
Generalizing is rarely a good idea.

You need to be on VATSIM or the like. You will not get any more realistic unless you do it for real.

It’s not a solution to this issue, but if pilots are playing in the “Live Players” option of Multiplayer we should not be able to spawn on the runway. It should be limited to gate or parking spots.

Nicely put N405HT! I was going to say something much more ascerbic!

Another way to ask the original question would be “Is there a way to disable multiplayer?”
So many fewer words and just as effective in eliciting the answer.
