[MAJOR UPDATE][V 1.2] Black Square TBM 850

I’m having an issue with the autopilot tracking Nav when on GPS (TDS GNSXi). It is slow to respond to course changes when passing a fix resulting in the aircraft overshooting the desired course. It will take several overshoots and corrections before finally settling on the desired course.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Yes, but imo it should feel heavier than it does.

So … do you think it’s spot on then and doesn’t need tweaking ?

I’m in the same boat.

I have thrustmaster throttles for both the airbus and boeing sets, and thought the airbus would be the way to go because of the detents but I can’t find a calibration process like you find in the fenix and FBW a320s.

UPDATE: I had created a custom profile for the ATR 46/72 using the Thrustmaster Boeing Quadrant and with a couple tweaks (removed the spoilers and the 2nd engine throttle) it’s now flyable (as opposed to the Airbus profile)

I totally get that, but lets look at the competition at the price. BS is backed by Justflight. The JF airplanes have great sounds for the most part. At that price you are in Comanche range, JF Hawk… etc. I think a Custom soundset is par for the course, if not then its a 30USD offering.

To me “feel” is more important than systems depth. If this plane feels no better than the Asobo TBM then I’ll pass on this one.

Most of the Asobo sounds sets are among the best ever done for simulations. I agree that stock sounds shouldn’t be used when an engine is very different (some devs misuing Rotax engine audio, for example), but in the example of the TBM, there’s no reason to change just for the sake of redoing the work when it’s already done to excellence and is appropriate and accurate for the plane.

The “AILERON_TRIM_RIGHT” event makes the trim tab at the left aileron move down, which is wrong. It should move up. In the cockpit view the aileron trim display is wrong, too. Apart from the wrong animation and the display the aileron trim works as it should. Can anyone confirm?

I would tend to agree, the competitors right now, the SWS PC-12 and FSR M500, are having custom sound sets, flight models that are being endlessly tweaked with real life simulators and pilots of the respective aircraft, and more cosmetic features too. And both are announced to be around $10 USD cheaper! I’m sure the TBM is a fantastic product but I feel for its price, it could include more. Or maybe the competition is just way cheaper and we’re spoiled

Thats all I am saying. Comparing it to others in the space. Not saying it isn’t good, just saying it could be better! I bought it after watching reviews knowing the issues, and I am enjoying it.

Don’t know if I agree with the above statement that the Asobo sounds set are among the best.

I can’t speak for the PT6 sounds used in the TBM or the king air, but the 172 and bonanza engine sounds are nothing like the real thing. Very droning and muted at lower rpm’s.

By comparison the JF Piper and A2A Comanche are much better. There’s a debonair sound pack I’ve heard that’s also quite good.

Honestly.

The systems work is very good. The AC textures are good too. The performance on my ageing PC is excellent (thank you BS :+1:). But the flight model (imho) is not quite there yet and as you indicate the ‘feel’ is very important.

Has anyone else had a problem with the “Honeywell AM-250 Altimeter” not coming on?

I’ve followed the in-sim checklist to the letter, and at the end of the procedures, I can only fly if I put the EFIS on the right side of the plane so I can use that altimeter.

In addition, the outside air temp, shown in the lower left part of the panel, under the yoke, also does not come on. I’m assuming they are both tied together, but for the life of Me, I cannot find a control that is not supposed to be on that is off.

Attached is an image of My flight from Reno to San Francisco.

Anyone have any ideas? I’m just stumped.

After a few flights now I have to say I like it. But I’m not blown away.

Theres a few things that annoy me, but I guess they are that way in the real plane (I can’t seem to be able to work out how to see target VS or IAS, it’s also next to impossible to see the baro setting on the copilot’s altitude indicator, so I kinda just wing it lol).

But for a quite expensive plane I would have like things like cones, an EFB, visible passengers. Plus to get the most out of it, it seems like you’d want to have the premium GTN750 too (otherwise no charts it seems?)

I don’t know how I feel about it. Frame rate is good though. Oh and for me the default view in VR seems quite good, not sure why others seem to have issues there.

does all your fuse are pushed ? maybe you acciendtly disabled one , I would check on the weather radar unit, if there is no faillures related aswel

Edit: After being in contact with BS developer,he is aware of these issue. It seems to be related to Honeycomb binding. Unbind the avionics master event, and it should work perfectly. A fix for this will most likely be incorporated into the next update.

I also have problems with the autopilot. HDG mode works but the light does not turn on. NAV mode does not work with GTN750 (CDI set to GPS). Solutions?

I like it too but like you I am not blown away.

Not bothered about visible passengers but an EFB and things like chocks, tie downs, pitot covers and a walkaround etc etc would have been very welcome. Not a deal breaker maybe but maybe expected now at this price point?

I am using the free PMS GTN 750 and to be fair on my installation the HDG light does turn on and NAV mode does work.

I did have problems with the Garmin 530 showing a flight plan but after switching to the GTN 750 I have had no problems.

If you have SPAD.next I think this will work for the Condition Lever. It a repurpose of the KA350 condition lever. let me know if it works for you.

Thank you for sharing it.

Sorry for the dummy question, but how I add/find the B:FUEL_1_Condition_Lever… events?
