[MAJOR UPDATE][V 1.2] Black Square TBM 850

I use SimHangers setup for the Kodiak 100. Works well with Beta, Prop feather and Cut off.

Is there somewhere a light switch for the overhead knobs?

That one doesnt illuminate the overhead panels does it?

no, it does not. the little switches for the map lights on the doors add a tiny bit of illumination up there but i have not found anything that directly illuminates that area

Sorry misread your original post.

Sounds bizarre, but try the light switches set into the door panels which light up the seat area from the overhead position. There might be a bit of spill from the overhead bulbs which might give a bit of useful light for you. I am nowhere near the PC at present so cant check. A long shot I know, but…

Like all planes, you just have to edit the values in the cameras.cfg file. Many devs don’t test for good VR pilot camera placement, or don’t assign a VR specific view at all. This plane does have a PilotVR camera but the placement is terrible IMO.

So find your cameras.cfg file, find the PilotVR camera (definition #37), and edit the below line.
Here are the values I use (with a key).

InitialXyz= 0.051, 0.168, -0.95 ; -l/+r -d/+u -b/+f

This will likely reset when the plane updates and you’ll have to fix it again.

I’ve been informed the overhead does not have lighting.

Can you please explain what does this (-l/+r -d/+u -b/+f) do? Thx.

I would guess:

First number, negative means more left, positive more right, second same for down/up, third back/front.

I’m personally kind of OK with the default position in Vr, but I’ll give these a try to see if I like it better.

That doesn’t do anything, since it’s after the semi-colon. It’s just a reference key for if you want to know how to adjust the XYZ numbers further. If you do make tweaks, you must fully restart the sim to apply. I usually leave the key in my file on that line and the ; makes the sim ignore it.

For me, the default values in VR put my face down too far and way too close to the yoke (which I don’t hide). It’s not a natural or realistic position unless i use the arrow keys to adjust my position manually every time I start a flight. This 1 camera is important since VR users essentially use the same camera for the entire flight, and it’s really more of a “starting position” than a camera. My new values place me more as if I’m sitting in the plane and I never have to adjust it. Moves me up & back mostly.

Just a quick question, maybe silly but I just did not manage to find it: can the TBM be bought elsewhere than directly with Just Flight? Like on Contrail, ORBX or such? Prefer to have my addons managed by such a tool…

Marketplace eventually …

Thanks, but Marketplace is THE one thing I was not looking for

How dare you.

To answer your question, not at the moment but it will be available other stores at some point. This is something we discuss and agree on with the developer, in this case Black Square. The next update for the TBM is likely in the next couple of weeks and once that’s sorted it could be prime time to distribute to other stores for it to be made available. Hope that helps.

It may be my monitor or it could be me, but I am still having a problem with dim landing and taxi lights. Is it just me or are others experiencing the same?

I love this aircraft and now get the awful realisation that with every new BlackSquare product that I fly the other BS aircraft far less than I want to. It is a good example of having your cake and then getting to eat it. Life, eh?

Did you install the update? That has proper lights for me.
