[MAJOR UPDATE][V 1.2] Black Square TBM 850

I never had any issues with the ILS but then again i haven’t spent the entire last month trying it solely with the TBM but i’ve done a handful. Maybe it’s the airport? Is it 3rd party by any chance?

Be sure not to have an old version of the WT GNS530 from the marketplace and update it if that’s the case. Test with only the necessary mods.
Some old versions of the WT GNS530 don’t provide the GPS swapping code so you may have 2 AP managers running at the same time. That could explain your issue.
Contact the PMS support on Discord if you have any issues. The TBM should work flawlessly with the PMS50 GTN750 (better to use the WTT additional package).

Maybe a mod conflict. Try with only the necessary mods in your community folder.

1- Please don’t apologize. We’re all here to help each other to get the most out of our hobby.

2- I’m not Just Flight or Black Square

3- Glad you got it sorted out!

This TBM is not actually a cockpit mod like the other Black Square releases, it’s a whole new aircraft made from scratch. You can read about all the features here under the “detailed description” tab: Just Flight - Black Square - TBM 850

Happy flying!

Well technically they did add winglets, tip tanks, radar pods to some of the earlier designs so they were not JUST a cockpit mod.

However, YES, the 850 is a new aircraft with only a few sound files in common with the 930 everything else is new.

How can we get rid of the smudges on the gauges?

Yea that’s what I’ve been doin

I’ve really been enjoying flying this, it’s a great product and I do not regret buying it.

But I have to say I’m feeling a bit jealous looking at the “other two” in terms of, well gimmicks. I hope for future products Blacksquare can consider some of this stuff (EFB, passenger simulation, visible refueling etc.)

REALLY like the looks of this aircraft as a replacement for my GOTO GA aircraft. I own a suite of GoFlight modulues and can program them with Spad.next if the LVARS are exposed. Scrolled through the past 200 post and see no related posts. Does anyone know if 1.) the cockpit LVARS are accessable to assign to joysticks? 2.) What might I expect to see function properly as with a default GA aircraft( altitude, heading, heading bug movements, course change movement, radio freq’s etc.) Hopefully one of the devs will jum in with an answer. But if anyone knows, would appreciated any feedback. Not a dealbreaker to use the mouse etc, but it SURE would be nice to know full funtionality and display issues before a purchase. Cheers!!!

Yeah, it is a very well modelled airplane and I love to fly her around to about anywhere, but my only gripe is the lack of state saving (cabin switches - wear & tear).
This would complete it for me personally…
Maybe down the line !

I’ve managed to assign pretty much everything through spad. No issues there, although some aren’t super obvious (eg prop deice)

Ahhh… I hadn’t noticed those smudges before… Thanks :unamused: , now I need to buy myself some glasses…

In case you didn’t find it, prop deice toggle is:

(L:DEICE_Propeller_1,·Number)·!·(>B:DEICE_Propeller_1_Set)

I use AAO but I’m guessing SPAD works similarly when it comes to setting variables. Ape42 posted this list on flightsim.to and it’s almost all the RPN scripts and variables you’d ever need for everything on the TBM.

Thanks, but last time I tried that it did not move the visual switch in the cockpit which annoyed me. Maybe I can try again but I don’t think there was an update. We had a discussion about this above somewhere in this thread where I posted my solution if you’re curious.

I just tested this to doublecheck and the switch moves in my plane with the above in AAO. Note, however, I’m using the LVAR status to set the BVAR.

Can SPAD touch BVARs?

One solution would be to use the XML files to create BVAR hooks which is exactly what I’ve been doing today for the DHC-4. Makes me happy when I see other decs really go out of their way to keep all variables accessible. I’ll scroll back up at the end of the day when I’m out of dev mode to see what you ended up doing.

The BVar thing is still locked out and will be until at least 2024 hits according to the latest dev update. Only way round things in the meantime is to insert a hook or just ignore the lack of animation if the actual function works without it.

I struggle to start the airplane.

I do everything as usual, but during start/ignition NG and ITT don’t rise. The airplane shuts down to batteries again when starter is off…

Very weird. Like 20 restarts and no success

Make sure ignition and fuel pumps are set to ON. Switch them both to auto after successful start.

Revise the in-game checklist again carefully you’re probably missing something…

Pumps are on. Everything as usual and per checklist.

But no ignition
