Mind you, some of them do overdo the safety a bit…
Most of the time the guys with yellow jacket at the ramp are in our way when we have to pushback or move off of our parking spot, why not make that they automatically walk away from you when we turn on beacon lights, just like real life after all…
That’s why I stick to the rear engine CJ4. I don’t have to worry about my paint job if that happens, but I pity anyone taxi’ing behind me.
Voted and love the beacon light trigger, but for now I’ll keep running through and slicing them in half with my wings.
I always feel bad for the ground crew in the propeller area when I start the engine(s). Even worse when I run right through them.
I’d like to have a “Clear prop!” feature: bind it to a key/button and when pressed it should have all crew and equipment evacuated from the immediate surroundings of the plane/propeller(s). Preferably animated, not just disappeared.
Switching on some external lights (mentioned earlier in this thread) should have a similar effect (as should a running engine / spinning prop) but a dedicated “clear the immediate area” feature might be even more useful. One could potentially use third-party software to make a voice command to trigger this.
I’d vote for that
Its emersive breaking tbh. Cars driving thru your bird, people running thru your propellers
. Please fix
Please evaluate ground operations for realism. At least in the US, GA does not have a herd of ramp personnel for each flight, and you never need a pushback or tug (unless it’s out of a hangar). At FBOs, you may have 1 person marshal you out or give the “all clear” signal, but everywhere else, you’re on your own (and “through” parking is the norm for anything bigger than a light twin - “nose-in” parking is not a thing for most GA). It is a serious immersion killer to taxi through the people and tugs always standing/sitting in front of you. Or, here’s an idea, give us the option to REMOVE THEM. It might save a FPS or 2 as a bonus…
With FSX, developed as a Aircraft FLIGHT simulator, the emphasis back in those days was the ability of the simulated plane to fly, and ground vehicles, and people on the ground was not major feature, if at all.
What amazes me , that now MSFS is being developed by an established GAME DEVELOPER, whose past works were basically all about Character interaction (and non collision), that when that character and object types were added to MSFS, it was so poor, in terms of avoiding character and object collisions.
Its almost as if the airport ground crew have a death wish and desire to interact with a planes props !!
Its not so much an IMMERSION Killer - after all, how immersed in flying can one really be, sitting in a chair at a desk, looking at a PC monitor, OR laid back on a sofa with an X-Box controller , looking at your TV — some thing you just have to accept and ignore in an at home, entertainment flight simulator – but COMPUTER GAME Character Iteration and stupid, dumb Collisions, should not be a thing to have to ignore in a 2025 Microsoft Computer Game.
In VR, actually quite a bit.
Personally, I’d love to see ground crew start to walk away if you approach them. And if the closure distance continues to reduce, start to run

Maybe it’s just the kind of real life flying I did but I very rarely interacted with any ground crew. I could probably count on one hand the times I was given hand signals. IRL it was fly to a small airport and find a spot to park that seemed to make sense. If I chose wrong the airport manager would have me move it. Or maybe as I was taxiing someone would tell me over the radio where to put it. Even at smaller towered airports nobody was around to position me. The amount of ground crew in the sim is not realistic at all.
Too many people/vehicles walking or driving to or though my running helicopter.
For the small aircraft, I’ve edited the aircraft.cfg file to remove the tug. If I start in one of those planes (sometimes I fly the big’uns), first thing I do is press Y and spin it 180°.
How do you remove them using the aircraft cfg?
To Asobo - Please look at this, the electric tug used to tow aircraft in and out of hangars spawns each time for me in GA aircraft. They are not used for pushing back from stand. Its an easy fix.
