Making Liveries: Has Anyone Produced A Decent Guide?

Do any of you know of a useful, easy-to-follow guide to making aircraft liveries for MSFS? Something that has been written without any assumption of prior knowledge of the specifics, that uses plain English and clearly explains the steps required to create functional liveries for the various planes?

I am a professional graphic designer. I have been using Adobe Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc) for years in my day-to-day work.

Links appreciated.

Nice new workflow 4 texturepainting in 3D with Substance Painter. You find additional Links with informations on how to get the textures into the simulator in the discription of this video.

Thank you - that is certainly very intriguing. The creator’s pathway seems to be Blender (free 3D modelling software) and ArmorPaint (PBR 3D painting software - although if you’re not paying attention, or unfamiliar with the latter, you might miss his reference to it!).

I do have Blender. I’ll need to investigate ArmorPaint (looks impressive). Sadly none of this looks as simple as having a clear hi-res 2D template to work with in Photoshop. It’s not going to be that easy, is it?

It is possible to do the whole texture painting in blender without the need of Substance or anything else.

As you see at about 8:34 the UV layout with the seams an islands are difficult if you want to paint a logo or text/pattern in 2D with photoshop.
