This is excellent. I really hated those sunken boats and marinas all over the coastlines and lakes. You’ve done a great work which I found worth a little donation.
Naturally, there are a few flaws, which I hope wou will be able to correct. I just caught one:
@TohtliPilot
MSFS Is 100% able to stack sceneries (packages) on top of each other, and their priorities can be modified with
manually with content.xml till SU9
manually by renaming the name of the packages (and removing the content.xml in order to make the sim rebuild it till SU9)
from SU10, with a content ordering tool
I consider my “global” sceneries as low level mod (something that should be part of the base sim), so I intentionally name them with a name starting with an “a-” (and the same did puffin for We love VFR)
This put them to the community lowest priority
Any other package that is loaded after mine (like bjian or Seafront) can easily exclude my work with an “exclusionrectangle”. While those are pretty common practice when working with Airports,
usually developers adding stuff around them or making POIs don’t use them (because when they created their scenes there was nothing below, there was no reason to them to add such exclusionrectangle!)
Is up to them update their products, or any user can create a little project with the internal SDK following this tutorial that I have made about
(an update to the video, from SU10 changes made by exclusionrectangle are directly visible in the scenery editor without the need to compile and restart the SIM)
But on my home island Aruba can only see boats no docks or marines same for Curacao sister island. Plenty of docks and marines via satelite imagery but not mapped by this addon, wish it can be done in future updates.
Iam going to donate to you, this is awesome!
Btw would using OSM data also allow you to in the future release of oil refinary addon to add oil tank storage to refinary and pipes etc.
I had to delete it because it causes spikes in CPU usage and stutters on my system.
Even in places where the presence of marinas is not expected.
It’s a shame. I really like this plugin.
I only use VR, maybe that’s why.
After some fumbling around, I found your Youtube tutorial on adding Exclusionrectangles, which has allowed me to remove the boats at the Cowichan Bay freighter dock. As a thank you, I sent you some pizza..
That is a small step forward, but it also removed the dock itself. Now, is there a way to remove the boats but keep the dock? I have the default “remove all objects” selected, but can I be more selective?
