Mandatory update deleted installed content on Xbox

If you have the same issue I do, everything’s going to keep uninstalling.

I tried this method, but I forgot to completely quit out yesterday so it was in quick resume mode when I turned it on this morning, so of course everything was there. I quit out after and when I restarted, everything was still there, which is good, but I want to leave it sit overnight to be sure. Hoping this fixes it.

I hope so, too. Fingers crossed!

To add to what Jayne just posted:

The “Xbox Report a Problem” tool is a free app available in the Store. Be sure to get and install it. You then access it from the Xbox dashboard.

The first time you launch it, it will display a page explaining how to use it.

Might help you guys out if when logging through Support at top of sight through Zandesk, that they don’t just spam you a message to reinstall game and close ticket within a few minutes.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

I have two Series X and one PC.

During a previous SU beta (not SU12), I had discovered that if I deleted a Marketplace add-on on the PC it would automagically delete it on my Xboxes and vice-versa.

I may be wrong, but I had not recalled that behavior prior to that beta test. I could have sworn I had been able to have each of my installs setup differently and without affecting the others.

Given this is a “thing”, I’m wondering, now, if this issue some are having with deleted Marketplace content and whatnot is related to this data. Since it was spanning all of my installation locations, it would seem this installation configuration information is a part of the saved data stored in the cloud.

Here’s the post:

Exact Same Problem twice. When starting the Game at the Point where content Manager checking for Updates a Message Pop Up that there is Not enough space (but Definetely is) I can’t go forward and need to Close the Game and start again. After that all is uninstalled. Installing 170GB again now for second time. SeriesX . WASM Addon is installed too

MODERATOR EDIT:
On Xbox X, same problem since the last update. I have to reinstall everything And the next day rebelotte everything disappears!!!

Sur Xbox X, même problème depuis la dernière mise à jour.
Je suis obligé de tout réinstaller
Et le lendemain rebelotte tout disparait!!!

For everyone having this issue, @NixonRedgrave 's suggestion seems to be a workaround until the problem itself gets worked out. My marketplace downloads so far have not uninstalled themselves since I did this. Worth noting the most annoying thing you will lose are your custom camera settings, so be prepared to set them all back up.

Thank you for reporting back and, more importantly, I’m really glad things are working for you. Hopefully, they remain that way moving forward.

There seems to be a number of threads right now with very similar issues regarding add-ons, looking for updates and sim launch.

What a bit of a mess!

@NixonRedgrave I appreciate you suggesting that. I’ve been really frustrated and disappointed the past few days, and I’m sure others have been as well.

Tried it and on the first look seems to work. Also was able to buy in the store again. Downloaded some updates and it looks ok. But I am also letting this sit overnight to see if it‘s still working. Will report back if anything changes.

Also thx for your help.

This has happened to me also. Twice so far. I have reported it using the Xbox problem reporting tool.
This time round I’m only going to install world updates and try it for a while - might be a marketplace purchase issue.

Further to the above post, note that I shut down my Xbox at least twice including an overnight complete power off, and it restarted with all my content ok. Then this morning it did it again…

How much Marketplace content would you say you have in GB and in item quantity?

I’ve got around 20GB of marketplace purchases - around 12 in total.
