Map of all Points of Interest, 3D Cities and Hand-Crafted Airports up to World Update #20 Japan

Very cool, never noticed that on the WU12 list when it came out :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Good morning, I’ve really been enjoying your map as of late, thanks again for your efforts, much appreciated! I have noticed though that some of the standard features of Google Maps are not available with your map, I was curious if there was a way to access features like Layers, Terrain On/Off and the Distance Measuring tool that you can use in standard Maps?

Thanks

I use the map on my phone, I just select to open in app and it loads the MSFS map into the Google maps app, I can select terrain etc all in there OK. I also have an ICAO map which I do the same with.

Sadly can’t activate the ICAO and MSFS maps together.

Whoa, I’ll try this now then. I’m usually using my windows laptop though for the bigger screen. I’ll see if I can figure out to open it in maps in Chrome.

Think you can share the link to the ICAO map?

Thanks :+1:

Also the direct link for the MSFS map for those of us that would prefer not to use Twitter:

Yes! If you open google maps, maps.google.com, then click on ā€œsavedā€ icon on the left (looks like a bookmark) you should see about four tabs. The rightmost should say ā€œMapsā€ and if you loaded my map recently, it should be there and when you click it it will transpose that map with all the pins onto regular google maps with all the bells and whistles.

In California, north of LA, in MSFS, there are now a couple POIs at Lake Isabella, a bit north of that, the Fairview Dam, and a bit north of that ā€œThe Needlesā€.

Besides that, there are now a whole bunch around Yosemite and San Fran.

Decided to update it a week ago myself. I’ve added the 3 city updates.

Latest MSFS 3D cities in city updates France and Texas plus are now inclcuded in FStater v3.1 together will all other 3D cities and MSFS POIs.

There are a few new POIs south of Mt Rainier as well as Seattle.

Hello aviators! Asobo didn’t publish a list of POI with their latest World Update today. Hopefully they give us one soon. However I did update the map with the new bespoke airports that are included in this release.

If they don’t provide a list and when I get the chance this weekend I’ll have to find the POI’s the hard way in the sim. I will also add the City Updates as well over the next few days.

TIP: On the map, you can tell whether the airport is a small GA airfield or a larger airport that has scheduled airline flights by looking at the icon associated.

Top tip on the airport icons that will be so useful can’t believe I’d not noticed that before.

How are you classifying these? I thought I’d found lots more places to fly my A320 but some of these are pretty small and not suitable for jets. The cutoff is suitable for passenger turboprops?

:+1: Thanks a lot, waiting too for the mark on your map for photogrametry cities update 2 and 3 and world update 14.

Yes. What I do is load the ICAO of that airport in flightradar24.com and if I see it has scheduled flights using at least an airplane like an ATR then I mark it as a larger airport and not GA.

Many POIs in Vancouver not listed.

I do see more POI in the in-sim map in Vancouver but they are not hand-crafted by Asobo. POI markers In-sim made from TIN (Photogrammetry) are not included in my map. My map is primarily for the bespoke landmarks that were created for the World Updates.

I really appreciate everyone who points out POI that I might have missed. If anyone sees a hand-crafted POI that I missed let me know with the name and general location.
