This. Why is the developer hidden on 2024 products? I see a few military planes that look interesting, but who is the developer? Are they a reputable one that is worth my time, or one of the lowest common denominators that flood the market with quick, poor quality ■■■■? I think I know the answer from experience in 2020, but I shouldn’t have to guess. Hiding this, reclaiming the space on the tile to be blank, makes no sense whatsoever. It looks unprofessional and shady, and it makes the marketplace update right next to useless.
I can’t decide if it s surprising or unsurprising that days after the marketplace went live, it’s full of MScenery shovelware garbage.
s/mscenery/vasystems/
Surprised not surprised.
This version of the sim is targeted at casual players. Shovelware will do quite well with the target audience, same as simcoins to pay to avoid grinding.
What is in the Marketplace has no relation to who the sim is meant for. They are all planes which are skins on top of default planes. These were easy to get ready for 2024, thus the developer had the benefit of being able to be one of the first in the product backlog.
It is unfortunate, because that WILL generate sales for them. SInce there are not choices in the Marketplace right now, very few of the quality products, these developers will benefit by having limited choice in the Marketplace.
The people producing shovelware are not targeting serious simmers. So the marketplace DOES reflect the target audience - in the case of 2024, the casual gamer.
mouse-freelook-axis-crosstalk-overly-sensitive
any comment on this top priority bug report, Asobo ?
i didnt see a concrete mention of this being fixed in the SU2 beta ..
not being able to use a mouse as intended for free-look (pc and xbox) is utterly inacceptable
Microsoft is not censoring any third party developer. So they have no control over what gets submitted. They have control over what they do sell, but they have chosen to not moderate and sell everything that is submitted via normal channels. Every sim has some addons of questionable quality that you can obtain, even XPlane or DCS.
So no, you can not tell the intended target audience by what addons are offered for consumption. It is entirely possible some of these addons submitted may only have less that 5 units sold.
Never saiid they were. Just that it’s obvious from all the shovelware that arcade-style gamers are seen by developers as their target market in 2024, not serious simmers.
Hi, if these are important to you, then vote here:
and vote here:
https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/addon-developer-not-listed-in-24-marketplace-title-cards/711818
I don’t know if this is a bug or a feature request. There is no harm in voting for both; if they get merged and you vote twice, one of your votes will stay behind in the merge, but the net will still be one vote from you.
Thank you for releasing the Miltech M2KC and Tacflight Kiowa OH-58 …on Xbox.
Again with this spiel? NO Microsoft Flight Simulator was made for the “study-level-or-I-throw-a-tantrum”, airline pilot on a busman holiday crowd. Ever.
The name of the game for the PC purists is (heavily modded) X-Plane. Simple as that. Just bite the bullet and get that, along with all the cool 100€+ Toliss and FlightFactor planes. I know I’d do it if I had the money, it’s an awesome sim! Cheers
Never said it was a “study level purist sim.” I always maintained 2020 was a game. But it is, today, far better for serious users than 2024, which is still not ready for consumer use.
It will take at least until 2026 for 2024 to be relatively usable. Maybe 2027. Same as 2020 took years to bake.
Just look at the ratings in the xbox store. More 1s than any other rating. These people bought it and panned it.
Not having a marketplace at launch, and the conversion of 2020 to 2024 not being the simple process everyone was told, has done a lot of damage.
The SU2 Beta patch notes must be nearly as long as the game’s entire code base… impressive! While a huge positive, it also shows how far short the sim landed on launch, and after SU1.
There is one addition I never even knew we needed, but was happy to see:
- Windsock sound added
I’d rather they were adjusted to be visible from further away in VR (if not already done; I’ve seldom used 2024, especially in VR, so am using 2020 behaviour for reference and assume it’s unchanged). They need their own rule which overrides any general object LOD calculations, in my opinion.
Also interesting to see so many tree species named in the patch notes with the biome updates. Never thought I’d see such a thing in a flight sim’s patch notes. (How far we have come in 30 years, from a solid, green, untextured ground surface with no trees to speak of!)
Good luck to those testing SU2 Beta. Look forward to the final release whenever it’s ready
Amazing progress. Cheers.
That’s right, I got a scenery (SAWH Simulacion Extrema) released in MSFS 2024 that was supposedly approved by the creator, but the terminal building and the tower don’t load.
I’m sure it was approved by the creator. Doesn’t mean the creator paid any attention to how it worked in 2024.
I understand, but one thing is claiming that 2024 has a bunch of bugs/issues that hinder the experience for people who fly more realistically.
Claiming that the game was designed to do so for whatever reason is a very different claim, and one I do take issue with. And no, VR is not buggy because there’s now a career mode.
Yea Just did a complete flight plan on EFB XBOX now textbox works and
we can now select departure and arrival. Its wonderful Thanks for this update
Huh, but that’s exactly what it means: if it’s approved, then it’s compatible.
Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense.
Any approval is only as good and reliable as the approving authority itself.
