I just installed 2024 for the first time, moved the Packages folder to the D: drive via Sim, not by copying and pasting in Windows. I made sure that the correct subfolder structure had been created by the sim. Then, I downloaded all enabled content, and installed all enabled content. Clicking on any of those items gives the option to uninstall, but the Installed tab in the Library of the sim is greyed out. There’s nothing in the Community folder yet, and the tab remains greyed out after exiting FS 2024 and relaunching it. The UserCFG.opt file is pointing to D:\MSFS2024, where everything was downloaded
Is that tab greyed out because it is for only items from 3rd-party developers, or has something gone wrong with the installation process?(I’d like to know the installation is good before spending a lot of time setting it up.)
Installed in FS2024 means downloaded and installed in the sim’s file structure rather than streamed.
Either streamed or installed is acceptable.
Sometimes, the “Installed” tab is really greyed. That’s only user interface error. After restart of MSFS you may find the tab active, sometimes. That has no impact on what items are realy downloaded and installed. You can verify the propper installation of your items in “All” tab, they cannot be downloaded anymore.

Well, if “Installed” means “downloaded and installed,” which is exactly what I did, then why is there nothing under my “Installed” tab, which is disabled so that I cannot even click it?
Could you open your MSFS 2024 folder, take a screenshot of it, and attach it in your reply?

Installing is a two part function.
I suspect the download went ok, but the installation part did not.
