Marketplace filter cannot be removed if developer is not on the list of search results

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
If you put yourself in a situation where you can get Marketplace search results but have a filter where the selected developer is not on the list of search results, clicking the “X” on the filter will not remove the filter.

I discovered this when searching for FlightFX’s KPWK, which is a 2020 product currently not in the 2024 Marketplace (as of 1st May 2025 – if you try this in the future with FlightFX and their KPWK has come out in 2024, this will not work). So if I filter on FLIGHTFX and then type in a search for “KPWK,” a search result shows up, but it’s not FlightFX’s product. Clicking the “X” on the FLIGHTFX checkbox does not allow me to remove the filter.

I’ve found a few ways to get this result, but the easiest way to repro is to set the filter before typing.

As you narrow down your search, the Marketplace maintains a list of developers for your search results. The root cause for this bug is probably because you are trying to clear a developer filter that isn’t on their list of developers.

(If you’re confused by all of this, go straight to the video at the bottom.)

Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta?
No, but there wasn’t much of anything in the Marketplace before the beta. So I don’t know if this is a Sim Update 2 bug or not.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
If I follow the repro steps, 100% of the time. The only time this doesn’t happen, when given the correct circumstances, is if I don’t type quickly enough. But since I type quickly, this can happen easily.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

In the description, above, I gave a real-world example where I was searching for a developer’s product that hasn’t come out yet in 2024. But if I wrote the repro steps in terms of that example, and the developer comes out with the product tomorrow, someone’s going to try and repro this and it won’t work and they’ll say I didn’t log the bug correctly. So I’m going to go with a nonsense example that is not going to change any time soon: We’re going to filter on CARENADO and type in “Airbus” as a search.

You can search for other things, but I think something has to show up in the search results, or else it won’t work.

  1. Open the Marketplace.
  2. Go to the Aircraft tab. (I need to be clear that this is not an Aircraft-specific issue. The example I gave in the description happened with an airport.)
  3. Under the Creators tab, filter for CARENADO.
  4. Step 4 has to be typed somewhat quickly. You don’t have to be Superman. But if you use the hunt-and-peck method on your keyboard, give this step to someone who knows how to type: Type the word “Airbus”.
  5. After the search results populate, try to click the “X” next to “CARENADO”.

Expected result:
You should be able to clear CARENADO as a search filter.

Observed result:
You cannot clear CARENADO as a search filter.
