I’ve searched for this info but was unable to find an answer.
Where users have purchased content in 2020, it is generally available in 2024 (depending on a few factors).
However, if a purchase is made in 2024, is that same product also available to install back in 2020, if the same product exists in 2020’s marketplace? (Obviously 2024-only products would not be, nor perhaps ‘new’ 2024-specific versions of products which have branched off.)
In my case, I have the MS Store version of both sims.
2020 is still my primary sim, but 2024 is more convenient for browsing the marketplace with its faster load time and expanded features, which is my main reason for asking.
Yes, you have it correct. If the same product by the same developer exists in the Marketplaces for both MSFS (2020) and MSFS 2024, you can buy it on either MP and will receive it in your Library for both sims.
Caveat: you must own both sims on the same platform. For example, Marketplace purchases will not be shared if you have MSFS (2020) on Xbox and MSFS 2024 on PS5. Purchases will be shared between PC and Xbox if you purchased both sims via the MS Store (or are a Game Pass subscriber). PC-Steam and PC-MS Store are considered two different platforms and purchases are not shared between them
Please let me know if you have any further questions about this.
I bought FlightFX C750 and ini F27 on 2024 marketplace (MS store) and surprisingly they also appear on my 2020 library (Steam), as well as some airports.
