Massive mismatch in default 747 fuel consumption vs Simbrief/Fuelplanner

Hi guys,

This has been bugging me since day one and I would like to try and get it sorted once and for all. Simply put, the fuel consumption (and/or FMC calculation) is all over the place and way off what any planning tool churns out. I use mainly Simbrief since that is the fastest way to load a flightplan into the FMC but regardless of what 748 option I use (Default, Salty, Working Title), I always start off with too little calculated fuel and arrive with way too much. This only gets worse on long haul flights.

Take for example a recent flight from Manchester to Singapore. If I loaded the exact amount of fuel Simbrief tells me to, including reserves, the FMC tells me I would be short 25 tons at the destination. If I ignore that and depart anyway, I’ll arrive with over 100 tons of FOB.

I’ve gone to the extent of deleting the entire 747 folder and forcing MSFS to redownload/reinstall that aircraft just to make sure the fuel consumption values are untouched and honestly as a casual simmer I couldn’t be ■■■■■ whether or not it perfectly matches up in real life. I just want it to be consistent both during flight planning and actual operations. Currently loading up fuel just feels like a crapshoot.

Can anyone advise what values I should tweak the config so that it matches up to at least 1 of the Simbrief airframes please? Or any other solution to get some semblance of proper operations, really.

Thank you.

This is also (still, apparently) happening on the default 787 and Kuro 787 as well. Did RCTP-KSEA with 10 tons short on departure and ended up with 100 tons surplus on arrival. Absolutely ridiculous.
