:airplane: Massive Simulations 32 – AIRLINER THURSDAY

:sweden: Mini Fly-In – Destination Gothenburg!

G’day pilots!

This Thursday, September 10, the Massive Simulations 32 Airliner Thursday Mini Fly-In heads north to Scandinavia!

This week we have four different routes and aircraft categories all converging on one destination:

:sweden: GÖTEBORG LANDVETTER – ESGG

From vintage piston classics and magnificent propliners through to modern airliners and some of the most iconic jets ever built, we’ll be bringing several generations of aviation together over Gothenburg.

And this week, we’re putting the spotlight firmly on three legends from the golden age of jet travel…

:star: FEATURE AIRCRAFT

:airplane: BOEING 707 • LOCKHEED L-1011 TRISTAR • BOEING 727

Have you been looking for an excuse to get one of these classics out of the hangar?

This is the week!

Our featured aircraft for Thursday are:

:airplane: Boeing 707
:airplane: Lockheed L-1011 TriStar
:airplane: Boeing 727

We’d love to see plenty of 707s, TriStars and 727s making their way into Gothenburg and filling the ramps at Landvetter.

Classic jetliners aren’t mandatory, though!

All other aircraft are absolutely welcome.

Choose whichever category suits you, grab an aircraft with appropriate performance, and come join the fly-in.

:airplane_departure: CAT 1 – AIRLINERS & BUSINESS JETS

Our main airliner group!

Choose your favourite narrow-body, wide-body or business jet.

This is also the perfect category for this week’s featured 707, L-1011 TriStar and 727.

:ireland: FROM: Dublin Airport – EIDW
:sweden: TO: Göteborg Landvetter – ESGG

:alarm_clock: Departure Window: 1115–1130 UTC

Modern Airbus? Absolutely.

Classic Boeing? Even better.

TriStar? Now we’re talking. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

:small_airplane: CAT 2 – CLASSIC PROPLINERS

Time to get those radials turning!

Category 2 is for aircraft such as the:

:star: Douglas DC-6
:star: Lockheed Constellation
:star: Or another classic propliner with comparable cruise performance.

:norway: FROM: Kristiansund Airport, Kvernberget – ENKB
:sweden: TO: Göteborg Landvetter – ESGG

:alarm_clock: Departure Window: 1115–1130 UTC

There’s something particularly special about watching a formation of classic propliners arrive alongside the jets!

:small_airplane: CAT 3 – VINTAGE CLASSICS

Going back another generation…

Break out the Douglas DC-3, C-47, or another vintage aircraft with comparable cruise performance.

:germany: FROM: Heringsdorf Airport – EDAH
:sweden: TO: Göteborg Landvetter – ESGG

:alarm_clock: Departure Window: 1115–1130 UTC

Take it slow, enjoy the scenery and let those big radials do the work.

Eventually we’ll all meet you in Sweden!

:high_voltage: CAT 4 – LATE DEPARTURE EXPRESS

Running late?

Can’t make the main 1115–1130 UTC departure window?

We’ve got you covered!

Category 4 is our Late Departure Express, giving pilots another opportunity to join the event and meet the other groups for the arrival into Gothenburg.

Choose your favourite narrow-body, wide-body or business jet.

And yes — the 707, TriStar and 727 are very much encouraged here too!

:norway: FROM: Kristiansund Airport, Kvernberget – ENKB
:sweden: TO: Göteborg Landvetter – ESGG

:alarm_clock: Departure: 1200 UTC

Fire it up, get airborne and come catch us!

:yellow_circle: Category 4: 1200 UTC

DESTINATION

:sweden: Göteborg Landvetter Airport – ESGG

:p_button: GATES, RAMPS & COMMS

With four groups all converging on the same airport, we’re going to have plenty of aircraft moving around Landvetter.

All pilots will use the same voice communications channel throughout the event so we can coordinate the different groups and bring everyone together for the arrival.

:warning: PLEASE SELECT YOUR GATE OR RAMP BEFORE SPAWNING

Before loading into the simulator, please advise the group of your intended gate or ramp allocation in our dedicated:

:speech_balloon: gate-ramp-allocations

Checking the allocations before spawning helps prevent two aircraft attempting to occupy the same piece of concrete — which tends to result in a rather unconventional aircraft configuration! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Please post your allocation before spawning into MSFS so we can give everyone a much smoother start to the event.

:sweden: NEXT STOP… LANDVETTER!

This Thursday we’ll have four groups making their way towards Sweden, bringing together aircraft representing very different generations of aviation.

From the DC-3 and classic propliners through to modern airliners, business jets and our three featured classics…

707 • TRISTAR • 727

…we’re hoping to see the ramp at Gothenburg filled with some serious aviation history!

Four categories.
Different aircraft.
Different eras.
One destination.

:airplane: FLY TOGETHER, FLY MASSIVE

Fire up those classic jets — or whatever else you love flying — and we’ll see everyone at…
