Massive stutters some times sometimes

Hi all. I’m experiencing these stutters from time to time, visible when panning around the cockpit, changing camera view in cockpit and outside camera etc.
They tend to happen around 1 in 6-7 flights and the majority of the time happen after landing.

I’ve never managed to capture them with a screen record, but this time I have.

I feel I’ve exhausted all options and there isn’t a google/youtube solution I’ve seen.

Here’s my Graphics settings …

I have a AMD 7800X3D, with a Nvidia 4080 Super and 32Gb RAM.

Please help otherwise I’ll have to continue to kick the cat each time this happens. (Joking. I haven’t got a cat.)

Here’s the link to the video : https://youtu.be/oBGconJCc7Q?si=zZyjHeaj7miXhNqA&t=1645

Lag starts at 28:16.

I just had this problem and fixed it by cleaning out my rolling cache … first time had to do in 4 years of MSFS.

My rolling cache is set to off.

Mine is off too. Nevertheless, when i clean it, it solves some problems with the inibuilds A310 (CTD on loading the plane). It is like it caches some data while its off.

How odd. I’ll give it a go though, thanks!

This is a weird one… Tried and sync your windows time setting?

I am also experiencing weird stutters, so I am happy to try this, but what exactly do you mean by that  ?

Whenever these problems happen to me I clean the following folders:

C:\Users"Your User"\AppData\Local\D3DSCache
C:\Users"Your User"\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\DXCache
C:\Users"Your User"\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\GLCache
C:\Users"Your User"\AppData\Roaming\NVIDIA\ComputeCache

In general, when I do this it usually improves a lot.

Here is what fixed the problem for me—reverted to DX 11. Absolutely no more stutters. If you are already using DX 11 then the other thing to try is run the Disk Cleaner in Windows. That cleans out a Shader Cache that can be a problem.

Does anyone have de solution for me? I build my pc about two months ago. It is really weird but only on the ground and only in external cam, sometimes I get a really bad stutter/ lag. When I change the anti aliasing from TAA to anything else and back the lag disappears for the remaining of the flight. My system is strong enough since taxiing around the biggest airports is not a problem. Only the external cam results in this lag, but when I return to internal cam the stuttering stays.

It would be great if you could check out the video as well! Thanks a lot in advance

If it’s that bizarre jittery lag not so much fps stutters once in a while I have to disable dlss save and immediately enable it save(not even leaving the menu). Still haven’t figured out why with all latest drivers and pretty regular file cleaning. Only does it on TAA. Same CPU/GPU as yours.

There’s no rhyme or reason it just does it sometimes.

ETA I do run FSLTL and GAmod almost every time and it only happens parked at startup or if I’m moving around cameras at shutdown, so my leading suspect is some model gets loaded in or starts up to trigger it. No way am I flying 50 flights looking for an answer as it takes 3 seconds to fix it.

Yep - I get that also every now and then - I have no idea what causes it but luckily it doesn’t happen very often.

That’s it! That’s exactly what I’m getting. When you’re in cockpit mode (if you have different cameras set up), does it move around like that too?

Yes it starts sporadically and moves around in cockpit as well. Really annoying and I really don’t know what’s causing it. I have exactly the same specs as you have.

I don’t think it’s ever happened in flight. Nor does it matter what airport it is. It’s been doing it for a while.

As an aside I goofed around with settings more so to see if the PC Sierra was still using 8K textures because it pretty heavy for a GA. I went back to high end settings and upped precache and terrain back to ultra, re upped my texture sizes back to the high values, anistropic 16, LOD 200/200 yada yada.

I left ‘texture resolution’ specifically at HIGH and the game got a LOT smoother. Seemed like ram use jumped to 28 and GPU to 12+ I have it capped at 60fps vsync and mostly stayed pegged and the stream was almost exclusively yellow/green with just the typical single CPU red blips from fetching objects.

I wonder if keeping that at high smooths out any random 8k textures that may be implemented in various objects? Will see how long it goes without a flicker event. The data just seems more streamlined.

I run a 55" in my face and nothing looked worse for the setting.

In windows, find you time and date settings, and then press “sync”. =) It has actually made a differnce from time to time.

Heh mine was actually out of sync too. Of course I did this and changed some other things so will never be sure which may or may not of fixed any issues. I will say since I turned texture resolution down to high it seems way way smoother including the data. I keep everything else at or near ultra and large texture maps and any difference coming off of ultra has made is some level of minutiae I can’t perceive.
