Before I finished it, Steam shows that It was 0.0% of players have this achievement.
After I touched down it pops up from the bottom with "Saddle Sore ".
And is it 0.1% now. Thank god, no bugs this time.
I completely ran out of fuel and forced landing nearby the runway.
The original plan was KSEA->KORD, but insufficient fuel to fly there.
So I changed to KMSN.
In the beginning, I forgot to start the timer after 10~15mins then I start it LOL
I was afraid I didn’t fly for 8 hours so I circle around the airport once until no fuel left.
Then I got it. Finally
Refuel your plane before you start the flight.
Set True to life all the time.
ATC(you can use it. BUT Don’t close it, just tray it)
DON’T use any ground service(NO pushback, refueling…)
Checklist(Can use. DON’T close it, tray it only)
Only the cockpit view. Don’t switch to the external camera or another.
Don’t pause your flight, let it burns your GPU.
Good thing >You can use your Autopilot.

That’s a lot of flying! I’m surprised at the awards and the percentages on Steam. Even small stuff like started engines or flew 300 miles is like 20-25% achieved. What are people doing with this simulator?

it takes a lot more than one person to move the value away from 0%.
for 1 person to equal 0.1%, there would have to only be 1000 people playing the game.

For some reasons some gamers may buy it. But you know a lot of people buy this, not because they love flying or learning aviation, aircraft…
They flew for few hours, find that it is boring then never open this “game” again.

I don’t want to be aggressive. But let me ask you something, do you have any old boring video games that you’re still playing it more than 2~3 times per week right now?
I know few of people do this, but most do not.

I am glad that you do not want to be aggressive and I am pleased to answer your question. During my life I have spend a lot of money on games, educational software and flight sim apps, for myself, my husband, my children, grandchildren and great grand children. Some later found boring and then longer played or used. All members of my family and relatives who purchased x-plane can no longer bear to launch it after experiencing and enjoying MFS. I have read posts from many other x-planers who have dais the same. Does that answer your question? Instead of talking for your virtual flying friends perhaps you should perhaps tell them to make their own posts here so that we or I can help them. Perhaps they do not know how it can fully enjoyed. I hope that answers your question.

I think you have a good point… Many people got on the hype-train and maybe never played flight simulators before this purchase. I see three “camps” .. 1) play for a couple hours get bored of flying under bridges, stops playing, 2) played every version of FSX and excited about the possibilities with MSFS2020, 3) never played a flight sim before but now fascinated with all the information to learn and master.

GTA V, COD, Battlefield, WoW, Fortnite, Battle Royale, Counter Strike, Eve Online, Elite Dangerous… even older „classic“ strategy games still have a vivid community around them.
Agreed, the active player base is much smaller usually than the initial one. But AAA titles like GTA and specifically also Fortnite still make a lot of money (and are still getting new content).
Oh, and I almost forgot about DCS, XPlane, Falcon BMS etc. which also still have an (albeit smaller, compared to above AAA titles, but nevertheless very dedicated) active user base.
UPDATE: Oh, and FSX must not go unmentioned in this context: you still get to see YouTube videos about it - at least until recently
UPDATE 2: Oh, and last year I played Ultima VII (1992) (check out Exult emulator/„runtime engine“) and just recently purchased Falcon 3.0 (1991) on GOG.com - old enough video games?

That’s great. Glad that you are still reminder those fun great games.
What I mean is “few” people are still playing those old fun games, but for those people feel “bored” about that wouldn’t play it anymore.
btw I’m a bit tired on discussing it. It isn’t what my purpose of posting this topic.
What was the topic again?

It would be about sharing what you had played in your childhood.
