MCDU works on TEST in SimappPro but doesn't show in device manager, so wont work in MSFS 2024

MCDU works on TEST (when pressing buttons on MCDU and shows up on pc screen) in SimappPro but doesn’t show in device manager, tried with Chatgbt and it says I need to get WWDriverSetup.exe within the full installer version of SimApp Pro but it says I have simpro updater, I have uninstalled and downloaded again from winwing and the same problem. any help in getting this MCDU to work in MSFS 2024 would be greatly appreciated.

My unit seems to have USB issues. It’s very unstable with the regular cable and doesn’t work at all through a hub. It only works when connected directly to the PC with a high-end short cable. I suspect it needs a very stable connection and quite a bit of power. It might just be my unit, but none of the YouTube videos on this panel mention this problem, and I honestly wonder how it works when building a full cockpit with multiple panels.

Yeah, that’s not normal at all, assuming it’s connected through the correct USB connection on the unit itself (note: the Wingwing units have two USB-C ports. One is supposed to be for power only, in case your PC’s data port doesn’t provide enough current). Is your hub powered? If not, I strongly consider getting a powered hub for your sim hardware. One with switchable ports is handy.

I have my unit (a PFP 7 but all of them are basiclally the same electronics in different style cases) connected through a powered USB hub and haven’t had any trouble with it at all related to power or connectivity.

I figured it was the cable. The hub was powered, and I even tried connecting it through one port while supplying power to the other with a USB cable plugged directly into a charger, thinking it must be a real power-hungry beast. But that didn’t work either.

So, I bought a new 3-meter cable capable of delivering 60W and 10Gbps, and now it works perfectly. Using the hub was more convenient, but now it’s plugged directly into a red 3.2 Gen 2 socket on the motherboard.

Well, I’m glad you got it working! :+1:
