MD82 Starter Switches [SOLVED]

I don’t own the MadDog but visited a friend who has recently purchased it. He asked me to try and get it started as he’s struggling.

So… watched and followed a very detailed YouTube video. When we come to flipping down the starter switch it immediately flips back. The videos we have watched show the starter switch staying pushed down. Tried holding it down but nothing happens. No N2 movement. PNU is just over 4.

Any clues? Im here because he’s internet and social media paranoid :sweat_smile:

Ps I suspected a controller binding issue but couldn’t see anything. Still havent ruled that out.

Early start at his house and I can’t believe I didn’t think of this - use the mouse wheel instead of clicking and the switches stay in position.
