You need to have your PC ethernet wired to your router and with a dedicated 5Ghz channel. Also need to be close to your router, preferably in the same room. You don’t need to buy Virtual Desktop. Just start off using Air Link and see how that works first.
It sounds like you aren’t going to get good wireless PCVR performance. So you should probably get yourself a decent usb3 link cable and use that. Do a bit of googling to find how to set this all up. For example;
