Meta Quest Link App Version 76.0.0.452.315 (76.0.0.452.315)

After receiving this update on the quest 3 and the desktop link software I have not been able to get the link app to open in under 5 minutes and then cannot get it to link to the quest 3. What I’ve found to work is to go to settings/Apps/ find Oculus software and click Modify, Then do the repair/put on the headset and connect to link.

If you have gotten this 76v and are successfully getting the software opened and connect to link let me and easier way that what I wrote above. I have found each time I reboot the computer I have to do the repair on the software before I can get it and link to open and run properly.

Total Meta screwed this version up for the RTX 5000 series cards.

*May have found a solution instead of repairing the link app each time to use my link cable. Once you’ve restarted your computer I go to services and stop the oculus VR runtime service, then restart it, now the link app opens right up and then I’m able to connect to the headset np with the link cable.

I’m using Virtual Desktop so can’t comment on the Link app, but did waste all afternoon yesterday wondering why performance had tanked after my headset updated. Turns out it had enabled the performance saving battery optimize thing, which caps framerate at about half the normal rate. Thanks to the guys on the VD discord for getting to the bottom of the issue for me.

I’ve been having the exact same problem as you. Twice I’ve had to “repair” the app and it re downloads 2.3GB and then works fine.

Not found any other workaround other then “repair”.

Noticed this yesterday after the stupid update. There’s always something, never ends lol.

I got this meta-link pc app, non-beta, v76.0.0.452.315 update, along with a non-ptc v76.1023 on my Q3 and v76.1021 on my QPro 1.5 days ago. All’s working great with msfs2020 (2024 still uninstalled) using Link and Air Link.

I’m not sure why you’re having problems with this. Rather than go through the procedure your using I think you may be best to download the meta link software directly from the meta support website and then choose the Repair option. This should fix whatever issues you are having and you shouldn’t need to do this again.

If it doesn’t fix this you may need to do a full uninstall of the meta-link pc app (google how to do this) and then reinstall it. Sounds like you may have a corrupt file or two. This sometimes happens with updates due to either a server issue or if your local network has a a dropoff.

If you still have issues, I suggest you contact meta support and include your meta log files (google how to do this). Good luck mate and cheers.

Same exact issue here…I found the same solution…adds 10 minutes to my boot up routine though.

That’s the way I’ve been doing it. Every time I restart the PC I have to do the same again. Hopefully they will fix it soon.

I don’t trust the repair option in Windows Apps… better to just do a clean install of the Oculus Link Software.

Hi
What was the process for fixing this please

Ya, often a full uninstall of the meta-link software, followed by a reinstall, is the best option (google how to do this properly, that is, don’t rely on the windows uninstall option).

Also, reinstalling Oculus drivers can help as well (again, google how to do this). Some updates give you a startup banner telling you to update drivers. If you bypass this by mistake, manually updating these later often helps.

I just finished testing my Q3 and QPro with msfs2020 (2024 still uninstalled, waiting for non-beta su2 and full 3rd party marketplace) and both are working great (without any startup delays) with both Link and Air Link. Also with the latest nvidia drivers and dlss4 enabled with preset K.

Aside; @lipster what I think @Doehead was talking about regarding the battery saver option is that if you select the battery saver option in the Quest standalone home power settings, it can adversely effect things when you go into PCVR. This issue has been known for quite a long time (~4-6 months) and you are best to avoid using that option. If you need longer standalone runtimes you are best to just use an external battery pack imho.

Somewhere in settings (sorry, don’t have the Quest anywhere near me right now). Power/Performance or battery saving I think. Should be fairly obvious once your see it. There were only two options on that page iirc.

[SunlitAlpaca141] Done all this twice. Still not working unless I repair it each time. Won’t touch the battery saving option and never will.

Thanks,

Did you check under general setting in the oculus app to see if you have the version in the oculus app I posted?

If your is doing the same thing, you cannot fix it you will need to wait until Meta sends out a fix for it.

I think I just found a weird work around. While the Link app is trying to load with the endless spinning circle, I decided it was time to reboot in safe mode… while holding down the shift key for 3 sec while I was navigating to windows power restart it suddenly loaded fine. No idea if this was a fluke but it works now. Will try reboot PC and see if I can replicate it…

Edit - It would seem I can’t repeat it and now Link not working again, Time to try a clean Install and will have to just wait for a fix :worried:

I really lucked out here as I got updated with no issues at all but I appreciate the comments from you all as I was prepared for problems.

@T58x3DisDaKg Ya, same version as your thread title v76.0.0.452.315

I need to mention my graphics card is a RTX 5080 and before the update to the link app and the headset both worked perfectly with the 5080.

After lots of searching it is down to the new version I received for the app. The only way to use the quest 3 now is to repair the app with the oculus installer then I’m good to go until meta sends out an update.

What graphics card are you using?

You can do the repair with the oculus installer and you’ll connect fine. Problem is if you have one of the new Nvidia 5000 series cards you’ll need to do this repair each time you want to use VR with msfs.

Yep that’s what I’m currently doing for now. Tried joining the BETA public test channel and that made no difference, in fact it was worse, wouldn’t connect at all, so reverted back and it works now, but every time I reboot PC I have to repair the APP. I’ve got a 4060ti 16GB.

Tried everything in all the posts above, like Boot up in Safe mode , unistall the app, delete all folders with the name “oculus” then re-installed Link app and still the same issue.

Think I’m just going to have to wait till they release a fix, but at least I can use it for now.

@T58x3DisDaKg I’m using a rtx4090 with water cooled i913900k/32Gb 6400ram/z790mb/1000w psu.
