First part: Anyone hear have real life experience with pedals/rudders on a gen aviation aircraft.
Curious what real pedals will do (took flying lessons eons ago), ie: release them in a cessna, do they slowly snap back to center? Same on the ground?
Second:
I was thinking of either the turtle beach new pedals or the MFG Graphite standard pedal + cessna foot rest + hydraulic mod? (for use in mainly MSFS, maybe DCS sometimes, but rare)
Can anyone comment, is the hydraulic mod that much more “realistic”, do you also need the spring mod? For general flying (GA and occasional big aircraft), is the standard graphite pedal footrest adequate, or should i opt for say the cessna one 24/7?
Thanks in advance

Probably not going to be able to realistically answer all your questions…
I have had some real flight time in a Glider, Piper Warrior, Cessna 150 and Robinson R22 helicopter.
For the fixed wing aircraft my memory is rather faded, it was several years ago now and I honestly do not recall clearly. I don’t recall there being a noticeable force (certainly not sprung) to return the rudder pedals to the centre. Logically the airflow over the rudder surface would at least in theory generate some level of return to centre force.
As for the R22 helicopter flight that was in August this year and I recall that clearly - there was no force acting upon the anti-torque pedals. Their position is very much governed by the position of your feet alone.
I have the MFG pedals but do not currently have the hydraulic mod - hoping that will be a Christmas present this year. That said I have the centring spring set really quite light. The MFGs are exceptionally good all-round pedals even with the standard pedals. The Cessna style pedals may well add to the immersion if you typically fly Cessna aircraft in the sim. The MFGs are definitely a good investment in my opinion.

I just got my MFG Crosswind Rudder in grey at the beginning of the week. Serial # 12830. I opted for the hydraulic damper and Cam #5 along with the soft springs for the brakes and the soft crosswind spring. Also the wide pedal adapter. I am disabled and have poor use of my right ankle so I bought the extras in case I had any trouble. You have to twist the pedals forward individually for left and right wheel brakes. I was afraid my ankle would be too weak however i have found that the stock springs are fine. Also I do not need the soft spring either since the rudders feel much more stable and in smooth control with the damper installed. I went from able to fly the heli’s for maybe a min to now flying both the G2 and Bell under excellent control and stability.
As far as the Cessna pedals option I would only purchase if you intend to build a home cockpit. The grey pedals look space age or something. I really like the stock grey look since I play at a desk.
