ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
“I’m having an issue with the game MFS 2024. It disconnects my internet connection—not just from the game servers but also entirely disconnects my Wi-Fi adapter. This happens specifically in Carrier mode. I can’t figure out why the game is affecting my Wi-Fi connection.”

• Yes, I also created a fresh install and have this problem with both MSFS and 2024. When I connect in anyway to microsoft servers that my LAN network and my connection stop every 10 seconds. Bringing me to 0/bs and then a maxium of around 40 MB/s.

Updating this after a few hours of troubleshooting. I re-installed Windows 11 completely and removed everything apart from files. Also I left the clock sync off and set it to USA/Canada while I am based in EU and I do not have any disconnection anymore with MSFS 2024. I didn’t try yet with MSFS, was a bit scared if I have something working to install the deluxe and/or premium content and go back to where I was 5 hours ago.

This seems to have been solved for me by making sure that the system is not allowed to shut down the ethernet card to save power (disable this setting in the device manager).

Looks like I spoke too soon, just did a short flight and after about 10 minutes my connection got disconnected even with the ethernet power saving disabled.

It recovered after less than a minute but still interrupted the flight.

Been having the same issue since launch as well. I’ve already tried reinstalling, removing software that can create possible conflicts, adjusted computer settings, renewed/refreshed IP with ISP, updated hardware (PC and router) firmware, but continue to experience internet issues, only remaining commonality is MSFS 2024 since all other electronic devices remain connected.

PC: Windows 11, AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super, MSI Pro B650-VC

Issue: Random internet disconnections that only happens when playing MSFS 2024. PC WiFi disconnects, game CTD; all other connected electronic devices remain connected to router and functioning normally. Internet resumes shortly after CTD.

Possible scenarios: Appears to be happening more often during career mode (for the past 2 days, have been flying more starred VIP missions with B737 Max. Feels like its been happening particularly during cruise or close to landing. Though this might be because I’ve been flying those missions more often lately, have only successfully landed 1 mission of 8 attempts in the past few days, all others ended prematurely due to CTD).

I observed the same behavior.

After I reconnect to the network, the sim occasionally crashes.
It may or may not be related but I also see low bandwidth warnings when my internet speed test in a browser windows shows 150-200 megabit download speed.

Not sure if anyone is still dealing with this, but I struggled with this for 3 hours last night. The coincidence was too strong, each time I turned on the game my Internet speed dropped to 0 kbps, but the minute I quit it went up to 900 mbps.

I thought it was related to the XBOX app or the XBOX LIVE service, because I did not observe the same behavior with Steam games, but did observe it with Forza Horizon 5 as well. I deleted the XBOX app and re-installed it, but it made no immediate change. I also uninstalled MSI Center which was installed on my computer, because I thought it was some kind of “game mode” that could detect games and throttle the Internet to maximize the game’s performance. That also had no immediate result.

In the end, in an act of desperation, I clicked “network reset” in Windows settings. Don’t know if this was the fix, or if it was in conjunction with one of the many other things I tried, but this one knocked it loose and now I can load into the sim and play very smoothly while speed testing at over 500 mbps outside of the sim. So if anyone is also having trouble with this, I would recommend giving that a try (assuming you don’t have a bunch of network configurations that depends on the adapters not be reset).

It was solved!!! My wife found the solution

I changed the wifi channel in the router configuration and it worked again.

I was using channel 36 that was the most saturated. I didn’t know the concept of wifi channel, till now. But it’s easy to change in the router config.

I hope the same solution work for all of you who are facing the same problem.

This issue just happened to me for the first time. It happened a couple of hours ago and keeps going on. The 5 Ghz Wifi stops when I start MSFS 2024. It only works withthe 2.4 Ghz. I have a 1000 mbit connection. Very strange. Im already on the best wifi channel.
