I got this plane as it was one of my favorite planes growing up. The outside model and textures are very nice, cannot complain. Just like with his Tomcat, you can create very scenic moments. Engine heat-blur, afterburner effects, very well done indeed.
The flight model is also quite ok. The plane itself is hard to fly under certain conditions, that is re-created very well. To me there is still an issue with the full flap setting as that makes the plane uncontrollable. ( To me at least, and omg did I try ).
The cockpit is indeed a bit on the rough side. I think that should DC invest in high quality internal modelling, they would rise to the top of everyone’s list. There is definitely a market for these types of legendary legacy jets.
The Fouga is one of the best examples, where the internal modelling makes you feel you actually own the plane when in VR.
However, from what I take, DC Designs is one of the top sellers anyway.
It’s definitely not a cash grab, you can feel the plane was made with passion.
The man is closer to creating flight sim walhalla than many other modellers. It’s just that he seems to not want to take those last couple of steps.

If you’re familiar with the Phantom you see the modeling issues right away. No go for me. We should expect a correct basic shape from payware.

So what are the modelling issues?

I’ve flown the Phantom for a couple hours now and love it. I don’t mind some of the minor irregularities and have confidence DC Designs will continue to provide updates. The manual is minimal but I think some of the gaps will get filled in through discussion. I’ve been able to land it with full flaps OK. This model is a winner with me.

Must be some rivets out of place.
