I am deeply disappointed that VR has been completely ignored in this patch. According to MS/Asobo, VR in FS2024 is supposed to be a big step forward compared to FS2020. At the moment, it feels more like a giant step backward.
Did this clear for you? I’m having the same problem but yours is the first other example I could find here since patch 3. I reported my example here.
I’m really reluctant to do a full uninstall and reinstall but thinking that might actually be my best way out.
Thank you Seb for listing all the fixes and changes. Some were very technical, but with my dev hat on I could see how the changes were necessary. It’s very useful to see all the details.
The Release Note fixes are unlikely to have all been done since Nov 19th, I expect many were found by the devs and already in the pipeline.
The Library changes are promising, I choose Select All and the form says “Size to install 398.45 GB”. If I press F for enable, there are a huge number of clashes like this:
There is no info about which is the “better” or “newer” airport, so it’s impossible to make an informed choice.
The choice is between an Asobo airport and a GAYA airport, my guess is GAYA is the latest.
I don’t know what you have, I have steam. I read one piece of advice and it helped me: I changed the server region in the steam settings. (I changed to Germany, for example). And the download went faster.
Deserving places and things get 5 star ratings all the time
Conspiracy: ON
And some are trolls that take their chance now that the sim is in sub-optimal condition.
Conspiracy: OFF
This has a big bug, it duplicates the entries on every load into the sim.
Since downloading the update, all textures both ground and aircraft are looking terrible with reasonable (50mbs down) internet.
Whatever happened to the days of releasing a stable, polished, and finished product on release? Even if that means more time to develop it.
I must say that I’m deeply disappointed in their decision to cloud the game both 2020 and 2024. For several reasons.
For one, it excludes a great number of simmers who live in areas where internet may not be as fast, stable, or any at all. They’ve cut that population out of their product entirely. Or at least any playable version.
Secondly, it means that although you’ve “purchased” the product, you don’t actually own it. You can’t play it where, and when you’d like. Aircraft even having to be streamed in? Really? Why not have the aircraft locally stored from day one and just the scenery streamed? I personally find it a ridiculous experience to have to sit on the tarmac for 5-10 mins waiting for all the textures to stream in to even provide some basic immersion.
But other than these gripes, the single most fundamental issue for me, is that both of these products have a shelf life because it’s stored, and relies on, their servers. If the servers are shut down for any number of reasons, your product is gone. Never to be played again. I can still boot up FSX because I bought the software and everything needed to run it.
The price of this product vs the price we’re paying in sim experience is not worth it at the moment.
MSFS 2020 is a much more visually stunning experience than 2024. Much more stable, and overall enjoyable to play.
And for those going to argue about the data requirements that would be needed to download the game rather than stream it, if you can afford to buy MSFS2024, you can afford a decent high TB SSD expansion. I would rather be downloading TBs of data over several days and have it all locally stored than the current model any day.
These are just my thoughts. Not looking to argue. And I hope I am wrong about many of them and Asobo and MS get this to where it needs to be for the gamers and simmers out there. We must also remember this is marketed as a “simulator”. The vast majority out there are simmers. The largest community of its kind in the world. It’s not a sim at the moment.
I will finish by saying also, I’m concerned the way game development has gone. Instead of spending the time and money to perfect a product and release it to all, devs have gone down the ‘quick sell high price model’ with limited longevity in mind. They’re not built to last or serve the consumer any more. Sad.
But I do hope I am wrong.
Things look better for me but perform worse. When arriving at most airports, as soon as I taxi it becomes a stutter fest.
I’d rather go back to the last patch…

Not even close…
50 MBit is too slow. Hence the rotten textures.
Well, this is definitely a wholly new experience. Fenix A320 spawned dark&cold in MSFS2024. Fenix and MSFS2024 both in their most current update/patch versions. I have found no way to get the displays alive. Any advice…?
Can confirm, seeing this also. Whether it actually causes issues remains to be seen. Apart from an ever growing file, of course …
Check “use Alternate disply rendere” in the Fenix app
I am currently using fenix with no problems in MSFS 2024
I get the same as well.
Set the alternative renderer in the config page of Felix.
Having done so i can’t get to any airports to start a flight, it takes ages so gave up with the Fenix.
Which is ironic as this is the only plane that worked…
aparently some kind of easter egg made it out into the open, there were some placards that read some weird stuff, some say making fun of the users
Improvement: The virtual cursor now operates the toolbar in Character Mode.
Still to fix: The virtual cursor still can’t click on interactive elements during walkaround (covers, chocks).
Operating the simulator on Xbox without a mouse is still way more problematic than it should be. MSFS 2020 had this sorted on release, too bad this functionality is still not there. Please test your updates with a gamepad/controller as well, without relying on the mouse pointer!
Looks like a downgrade not an upgrade.
