Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 1.2.7.0 Patch #3 Discussion

Microsoft, I’ve had enough. I paid over €200 for the SIM and today I keep getting the error message “low bandwidth”. I’ve had enough. I’m going to ask for my money back. It’s ■■■■■■■ me off so much that I can’t take it anymore!!!

I dont see any difference between MFS 2020 and MFS 2024. In fact, if there is a difference MSFS is much better for the simple fact that performs better… I dont care to see beutiful plants in the ground, the main purpose of a flight simulator is to fly and not to collect flowers while you walk around.

If your ISP is Telekom/Germany, then this might help: Low Bandwidth issues with Telekom - Germany only! - #100 by Wilbur3203

Yeap, Back to being stuck at 14% loading and that’s as far as I get..

Reinstalled no problem. Ctd after install while entering missions map. Tried again & the map loaded but no freelance missions of any kind available.

There are a few posts about this over the last day or two.

In the SDK forum an actual Asobo dev confirmed that they have a fix ready for it already but they don’t know when the next patch will be. So we’re stuck with this for now until they do deploy it

No Flap Warning in career anymore, so that’s good.
However, parked aircraft still popin very close to the camera.
Ground Textures seem a bit blurry too.

I really wish they’d have added a startup log file with Patch #3 (which was requested from almost day one in 2020). Then at least some of the really smart people on these boards might be able to help others diagnose their CTDs and other issues.

On what system? Console or PC?

I agree. I’ve been on this ride since VR became available. A polished product right out of the chute is a figment of the imagination. Progress requires two steps forward and one step back and 2020 got pretty ■■■■ close to perfection after years of never giving up. MS 2024 will too in time. Meanwhile, I have tons of happy memories exploring the byways and hi ways of aviation in MS 2020 all the way from Patagonia to the arctic wildernesses. So much to discover! I imagine MS 2024 will too.

Yes, everything but landing and taxi lights seems to be out of sync. In some planes, some of the panels instruments are almost impossible to read.

Just jumped in to a night flight in the 172 Ski. All lights, both internal and external, work as expected.

I’ve also had my first FS2024 CTDs since the patch, with 2 today, annoyingly following fairly lengthy flights.

Both CTDs followed “resource exhaustion” warnings, on memory, so I’d guess that means there’s probably some sort of memory leak. Both flights were in Career Mode and I had noticed a difficulty in getting the quick reply to work early on in the flight, via any controller, it just wasn’t registered in the mission dialogue. Maybe a red herring, but it did look suspicious.

I’d already reinstalled, before the crashes. so not sure that would help, but I might just do it anyway. What’s the worst that could happen?

so what about the 200+ new features for.. you know.. actually flying? You don’t see those??

Moderator Edit:
Thank you… I’m going to check again.

Gracias… Voy a revisar de nuevo.

Obviously these issue were not picked up in testing!

It’s annoying on commercial jets as you really need the screens to see what’s going on.

I see MSFS 2024 provide 2 version of hjet but both are LITE that mean the two FMS are not independent.

I bought on Marketplace MSFS 2020 the version of FlightFX where I have lite and full version where FMS are independent.

Will have upgrade about that?

Very good update for me.
Fixed the extremely bright TWY lights :+1:
We can disable Asobo airports :+1:
Doing 60fps in the Fenix at Aerosoft EDDF with lots of injected AI TFC from BATC. 2020 was nowhere near that…
And the lighting is beautifull, clouds etc.

Not tried the career much. If it is bugged ppl could maybe give it some more time for it to mature…patience.

Not flying the default AC much. Just tried the C172, GotFriends :+1: etc. Some obviously need to be patched.
Fenix, iniA300 working like a charm in 2024, and performance is way better than 2020…for me at least.

Stuff:
*As mentioned above, some areas/airports are infected by ‘stutter-bug’…fixed internally.
But we don’t know where these areas are…
*No in-cloud turbulence(live-WX): flying through most intense storms on the planet in my mighty C152: no turbulence, no severe up-/downdrafts.
I know many seemingly want a calm flight no matter what. I don’t. Give us a reason to avoid bad WX.
*Light sizes needs to be impoved…

Altogether very nice patch - for me at least.

4080, 7900x3d, 64gb ram, 5120x1440 (ie ‘4k’).

Sorry. That was a typo. I meant 500mbs.

And secondly I’ve been able to see that it’s not the textures that aren’t downloading, it’s the topography from the photogrammetry is totally messed up.

I’ve realised that (where I fly mostly, Ireland) the topography is way off. Whatever AI they’re using is turning hedge rows into mounds of earth, and it looks terrible.

I have by no means a low grade rig. An RTX 4090. Ryzen 9. 64Ram, 500mbs broadband. It’s not my rig.

I rarely if ever comment on forums, but my concerns still stands.
Especially my concern regarding the fact that we essentially are ‘renting’ a game…the server “streaming” model is essentially renting an ongoing product for as long as they support the servers. Why don’t more people see this? We are renting an unfinished product still in alpha and we are not only the testers for the tech, but we’re paying to be so.

Very very sad.

And finally, if you are a gamer of my generation, all this will make sense. I paid a quarter of the price for games two decades ago that I can still play today because I have the software that was sold to me. It’s not reliant on someone else’s server.

The thread for overexposed runway lights has been closed and stated as fixed.

Im sorry to inform you Asobo, but it’s NOT fixed.

Runway edge lights and taxiway center lights (when it’s dark) have way too much bloom and makes it appear much larger than it should be.

Look at EGSS as a good example.

Also strobes have a huge halo around them constantly, so the volumetrics are also overdone. It’s like you are flying in a cloud all the time.

This also counts for landing and taxi lights on aircraft. There is a glow or fog around the lighting even in clear sky.

Then there is the issue of floating lights that can be found everywhere,..

And the sepia mask issue at high altitudes…

So TLDR is : lights in this sim needs a lot of work still and is a major regression from 2020.
