Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 1.2.7.0 Patch #3 Discussion

Very smooth experience on my end, performance is still great, sim is loading even quicker now and a bunch of stuff fixed! Looking forward to the marketplace release now, hopefully in January!

Plenty to do before that though, will try to do some Fenix flights during the Christmas break!

Interesting to find a sim re-install needed to fix. I may go down that route, but not tonight! This is the first time Iā€™ve ever loaded in to the seastar so it canā€™t be a memory of a previous streamed version. I also deleted the streamed package for the seastar to download it again, still the same, stuck on the tarmac. Even in ready for takeoff state engines running control inputs inop. Tried changing hotas over to default MSFS2024 controls but still nothing. I would try to download it locally, but that doesnā€™t seem to be an option yet in My Library. Another day another FS2024 mystery. :male_detective::mag:

so mystery is this game already or the development - until the patch absolutely no problems, for me, for the others apparently not.
since the patch very long loading times (already reported before) - and stutters - before loading time approx. 3 min, now I can drink 2 coffees - I have changed NOTHING on the system, have now tried a complete reinstallation, removed everything, various tips with sync time, restart, flush DNS cache, etc. etc. 4 runs around the chair, 3 times around the house  - unfortunately it didnā€™t help.
My guess is - Asoboā€™s evaluation before the patch - who is in the ā€˜fast lineā€™ and who is not ? simply turned around - and thatā€™s the patch - I canā€™t explain it any other way - I mean itā€™s only about loading the game - what can make so much difference except to put less bandwidth somewhere else and more bandwidth somewhere else.
Of course, Iā€™m exaggerating now (itĀ“s a joke) , and of course
I donā€™t want to do the developers wrongā€¦but nobody can explain it. because in all forums you can read that those (of course not all) who had no loading times before now suddenly have some and vice versa !

Nice work, all.

Agree completely.

Since the patch, doing longer flights in Career Mode appears to result in memory resource exhaustion freezes and then CTD.

Itā€™s happened to me twice today and Iā€™d never had a CTD before the patch.

It looks like there might be at least one memory leak in the new code.

Either way, itā€™s not the sort of progress Iā€™m guessing they were after. :frowning:

Itā€™s the most polite and mature gaming community for sure!

Now I canā€™t even load the game !!!

The game takes longer to load now. Before it took me max 2 minutes to get in. Now itā€™s taking 4-5 minutes. It seems to be stuck on 6% for a very long time.

After the 3rd patch I see a stutter fest during landings and a little less during take off. I didnĀ“t have the problem before the patch. 13900 K, RTX 4090, 64 gig ram.

yeah same here, longer loading times and also the whole thing is more stuttery nowā€¦ feels like gears are grinding insideā€¦ it was smoother before the patch, something feels askew with this patch

The patch has fixed the things that were irritating me the most, and I think I can largely move back here from 2020, where I fled to after about a week. Of course, I just think the ATC telling me to climb to Flight Level 320 is funny and ignore it, so YMMV.

The natural graphics (clouds, water, mountains) are clearly better than 2020, if not up to my overblown expectations from watching Grand Canyon previews. I havenā€™t decided yet what I think about flying in cities. It may be that Iā€™m just used to 2020. Iā€™ll give it some time. My impression right now is that it is an incremental upgrade for Free Flight rather than the giant leap I had hoped for. I feel for the people who bought this for the career mode, but I think things will eventually improve for them as well.

When all the projected new photogrammetry and TINS areas come on line, this could yet be a giant leap forward. They have to make stuff work first, and the holidays are on us.

same here, before patch about 2,5 minutes to main menu from start, now only at ā€œ6% loading languageā€, this step takes about 5 minutes ! :face_with_peeking_eye:

there is a patch with a lot of texts from Asobo/Msā€¦
Afterwards if it has improved things for you, great good to you, I donā€™t see much difference.
Personally, this software is still unstable, the planes are still buggy and VR is still a disaster.
So maybe one day everything will work properly.
In the meantime, Iā€™m going to uninstall and go back to FS20.

why they closed the bug report about the sepia issue ? it was not resolved in patch 3

Was it initially made for 2020? If not message a mod.

Same here, I created a bug report about it.

Also there is a workaround of sorts. If you kill the sim in task manager when its stuck at 6% then restart the sim, hit continue at the pop up the sim will load in the usual amount of time pre-patch.

Iā€™ve also been getting blurry runway textures on landing with airports I have stored on my SSD drive and last night got the infamous FPS/VRAM bug on landing.
Patch has been a complete disaster for me.

I flew the 172 Ski last night and I had no instrument lighting, nor had I Nav or lighting! Taxi and landing lights worked fine.

The Otter GPS panels are way to bright at night, the setting to reduce brightness does not work.

On the 747/737 the FMC and PFD screens are very dim, Iā€™ve selected full brightness but they are not readable unless you zoom right in.

This is very poor for working title aircraft!!
