Very long (10 min) Load time since patch #3

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Since Patch #3 was released on 10th Dec 2024 MSFS2024 take up to 10 minutes to load to the menu screen. Startup remains stuck on “5% Loading Language” for almost 7 minutes seemingly doing nothing.

Time from clicking on Launch sim to get to start menu: 9mins 39

Time from clicking Launch to get past the 5% Loading Language: 6min 46

Once it gets past that 5% step it launches fairly normally

Have also noticed that if I kill the sim in Take Manager when it gets stuck at 5% and then re-launch the sim, click on continue when it tells me “last session ended unexpectedly” then the sim loads normally…

Prior to the patch MSFS2024 always loaded in 2-3 minutes every time. This issue only started after Patch 3. Made no changes to sim or system.

Other observations…
Almost seems like the sim runs through 2 different startups with different messages.
If I launch normally and wait through the stuck at 5% the loading video plays smoothly and once it finally moves on it goes straight to “Activating Packages”

If I kill the sim in TM and then relaunch it, it skips the 5% loading language and goes straight to “VFS Activating Packages” and the loading video is a choppy, stuttering mess with frequent long pauses

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes, does not matter if I have a full or empty community folder, makes no difference at all.
Have also ensured system time is synched.

I’m having this issue as well since Patch 3 was released. Stuck at 6% for 5 minutes and then a slow load thereafter.

Same issue here, but stocked at 6% for 6 to 7 minutes and then slowly to a complete launch.

Since patch 3 in my Xbox loading is very slowly. Stuck a long moment at 13% : packs activation

Since Patch #3 inital loading is little faster, but if i restart some missions or try to do some missions or free flight it nearly takes 20min - 30min to load back in… i have high specs with high bandwith… i dont get it.

Same issue here, at 6% 3,5-4 minutes, total loading time 9-10 minutes ( after patch 3)

patch 3 made loading the game a lot slower and once inside there are more stutters

I have been getting weird loading times today sim not going past 96%
i restarted the sim no luck… restarted the pc no luck… uninstalled and re installed the sim still no luck and still stuck at 96%

• Yes and it is very annoying because the game was loading quick before.

I also don’t understand their whole process of loading languages and activating packages. Surely they could just create hashes/checksums and verify if those are still matching with the live server if that is what it’s doing.

• yes. It slow massive regression. Have you added back-off timers to reduce load on your under-dimensioned servers? Task manager shows it’s just sitting there doing nothing almost no CPU no network, then there are bursts. I can run speedtest.net in parallel and get 1Gbps, so I know it’s not my network or ISP…

• Same thing happens loading into the map. 10 minutes to load an island I frequently fly.

I think I found a way to speed up things a bit. When it’s at 6%, pull the network cable. You will then get a message saying something about no network connection. Put the cable back in and it will almost immediately continue loading past 6%

My loading was about 10 min prior to the patch now its about 30 mins. This is joke.

I always get low bandwith message with 1gbit network. Today it’s a waiting simulator. I waited about 15 minutes to start a mission. After that, I could play 5 mins. I exceeded 251 kn speed with Cirrus Jet. (The red line starts at 250kn) Got a penalty, and after 2 secs the plane crashed in the air. :smiley: So realistic :smiley: I start losing my hope. :cry:

• On my PC, before the patch, my load times were a consistent 2.5 minutes. After the patch, load times are anywhere between 5 and 7.5 minutes, usually the latter. It seems to hang on loading language at 6% for 4 to 5 minutes, then loads packages as it did prior to the patch. Loading the language was never an issue before the patch.

• I have been trying to gather information in an alternate thread. On one of my PCs I had a load time of 5:16 yesterday. Today, that time is up to 7:07. That is too long for a vanilla installation of just 2024 Standard, Deluxe and Premium content only w/ empty Community folder.
