I’m noting increased sim launch loading times. It isn’t what it was with the release and earlier build of the sim. On my powerful 7800X3D-based PC it is not terrible, but on my 2018 Razer Blade it, easily, rivals 2020’s load time.
I need to get the stop watch going, and post actual times.
What are you seeing for the sim load time since 1.2.7.0 was released to us?

Don’t be - I don’t expect it to last. Day after release they were averaging 2:15, then slowly started increasing until they were over 4 min. I then did a fresh install and they dropped back to 2:15 and slowly started increasing to a tad over 3min where they stayed for a few days prior to the big patch which is where we are now…
I averaged about 1:45 for the first week or so. Then I saw about two days where I was above 5 minutes. Then I went back down to 2:15ish. The latest patch didn’t seem to have much effect. I timed it several times earlier today. All around 2:15 from pressing play to being at the “Start” menu.
Why is this, loading time, so important to folks? With so many other pressing bugs, content issues and defects to sort through and report, why this distraction? Given that 24 is cloud based and streamed to us, the number of confounding variables like folks download speeds, the latency of their ISP’s and overall quality of ISPs that surely differ around the world makes such download time differences nearly meaningless? What am I missing here on not being concerned with a few minutes either way? Bathroom break, beverage, coffee refill, snack, whatever then done, go flying. What is far better in 24 is not having to press another buttion!
I guess the next question is over how many boot ups, and is this consistent, the new normal, etc. Not yet an issue for me this week but if it becomes one, say more than 5-10 minutes, then I will be alarmed. Thanks for sharing your thinking here.
Ah so. My install appears to be in the CTD-free/clean install cohort. Not one CTD in either 2020 or 24 in months, and not one in 24 (there, I just jinxed it). Wondering if the clean/defective install difference is a thing. That’s another topic so I don’t want to derail your good work here. Cheers!
I don’t get it either. The game loads to the main menu very quickly compared to FS2020 and it always been like this, maybe except of day 1 with authentication server issues. The bigger problem is what happens after, where you encounter annoying or game breaking bugs in almost every step of playing this game. Loading time is the least of my worries.
What I don’t understand is why people seem to miss the point of my OP.
I feel like people see the title of the thread and then comment without reading.
I don’t care about loading time as a principal. I care that it seemed to change significantly and it causes my scientific brain to wonder what is going on that this has happened.
It causes to me to wonder if it is just me or if this is a larger change seen by others.
Why is that approach frowned upon?
(@Nikita I know we had this conversation already, I’m making this post in the case someone else coming here to condemn my curiosity will see this and, hopefully, understand the point of my asking.)
It may just be network load in your area, perhaps. Something geographic to you.
I’ve not done this, but it might be interesting to both time my sim loading, as well as chart network activity by the EXE, assuming for a moment it’s the only part of the sim that does that work. It might be interesting to compare charts, as it were.
