LOL, no. No. MS2020 absolutely did not work.
That Albatross is an absolute bright spot. Iāve been fortunate to not have dealt with much trouble yet (and sorry for those who have), but if I had, thatād still make it worth it.

Yāall were the ones who always bore the brunt of the live weather issues in FS2020, also. Thatās too much of a coincidence to ignore.
And no, I do not attribute it to malice.
After 2 days of frustration, having experienced the same issues as many others here, I finally completed a very short flight in MSFS 2024 from S Florida to Bimini, Bahamas in the FFX SF50 Vision Jet. It took me quite awhile to figure out the camera settings ā not sure why this sim uses such a complicated and unintuitive camera systerm. And I had to bind my controls all over again - I will never understand why we canāt just import our 2020 settings. And the UI is just awful.
Why they did this is hard to understand.
The flight was surprisingly smooth with medium to high settings and I am running MSFS on a 6 year old PC with a 1070Ti (8GB), and 16GB of RAM. Barely adequate but it still works. Yes, I need a new computer.
Earlier attempts to fly with the ini A330 and A321LR kept CTD whenever I started entering flightplans/info. into the FMC, so I gave up on the airliners for now. After after being spoiled flying the excellent PMDG, Fenix and iFly aircraft, these stock planes donāt look very appealing anyway and I am happy to wait until such payware is compatible (although clearly, that may be awhile). Until then, I am happy to use MSFS 2020, which runs well even with those complex aircraft on my outdated computer.
I didnāt have much time today, but one thing I did notice is that the cloud structures looked much improved over those in 2020. I am curious about what else they may have improved in the weather system. Frankly, I wish they would have just improved the weather in 2020. As IRL pilot I am more interested in the flight dynamics and weather than all the extra āgaming stuffā in the sim.

Iām disappointed that the scenery hasnāt been updated. There have been several new buildings put up in my city since 2015, and none of them are in game. The Encova building downtown still says Motorists, thereās no lower dot com field, an entire hospital building is missing, and a major highway interchange that was completed in 2017-2018 still looks to be under construction.
Ok, I quit the sim and restarted and now it went smooth again! Could it be that after a few flights everything gets clogged up so that a restart is needed?

Absolutely crazy idea from the get go to make cloud streaming compulsory given how cheap local storage is now and given that servers were already pretty flakey at peak times with FS20. At the very least give us a choice. How difficult is that?

When it works the flying is amazing. But it doesnāt work very often. Most aircraft have no sounds for me - environment noise is fine, some planes have gear and flap etc sounds but no engine noise, most have no sound at all. I havenāt installed any of my 3rd party planes yet but I am very much looking forward to flying something that is locally loaded from my computer and seeing if that problem persists.
When I exit the game most of the time I end up having to go to my steam library and close it from there because choosing quit in the game hangs it. The interface for binding controls is a hot mess, itās like it was only ever tested by people who understood how it worked and were very familiar with the game.
I can see the potential but everything is a struggle, and the lack of sound ā¦ Itās not unplayable, just not worth playing.
Thatās because that poll would be useless to them. They know everyoneās upset. They want to know what people think after they get the server problems ironed out.
Itās been working pretty well as far as the servers go for the last 24 hrs for me.
Possibly, since you barely miss SimCity I think lol
100% my biggest concern when I heard about the new architecture has well and truely come true.
Iāve got 3TB of storage sitting doing nothing now. Unless you count the 10GB FS2024 is taking up that I havenāt even been able to get to load yet.
Even just the ability to plugin a fight plan and pre-download that specific area and aircraft would be a start.
I already use this with XPlane and Ortho scenery as never really got on with AutoOrtho.
Google maps app has done this for years in case you are in a no signal area. If a mobile app can do it, why not a full computer program?

I confirm the buffalo are there in real life or were they reindeer. Hard to tell in real life with all this resolution we get for free.
Jorg has overseen MSFS and I think needs to take responsibility and accountability for this.
There has been debacle after debacle.
If Phil Spencer finds this an appropriate launch for a premium title for Games pass then we are doomed..
Otherwise we need changes at the top and better leadership. No use blaming Asobo.
If theyāre not the right partners that should have been identified and rectified before now.
This is not a free product. It was offered in so many expensive formatās and look what was issued at launch. Woeful.

never able to finish a fly in 3 days with an airlinerā¦ different bug. to stuck at gate because the game think that the chocks are present to a crash of the command of the plane and a a lot of CTD. the game seems to have a potential in some years. for my efforts to attempt finishing a fly in 3 day I put 1/10 to this game. I m pretty sure that the dev team knew this status but a management by terror kills all the voices and maybe an under investissent to maximise the profit. shame
I did say I wasnāt going to participate in the forums in this first few weeks, but Iām trying to find out if anyone knows of a way to get past the Customize Identity screen.
Iām based in the UK, and I see there is a thread where lots of UK users are having this issue.
Day 1 was 0% Queue; Day 2 was a combination of 97% and 98%; Day 3 is the Customize identity.
Has anyone else experienced this or found a way past it?

- Repair the app
- Reset the app
- Update the app in the Windows store (there was an update last night, but no notes or version number change)
- Reinstall
None have made a difference.

Thanks, I saw that in the UK thread, but Iām not starting that nonsense just to fly a sim. Going to try some different DNS servers to see if that might work, but beyond that Iām done. Appreciate the help.
