Hey Asobo, I shouldn’t be able to count the individual frames when I’m flying. It literally looks like a Slideshow when I’m trying to fly…
What’s your specs?
It has nothing to do with my hardware. This is the dreadful performance introduced with the latest update. I usually hover around 25-30 FPS normally, its been down to 6 with this update. here are my specs: i7 -8750 RTX 2060 Super - I have a solid system, one thing I have noticed is the GPU utilization is literally 5-10% most of the time.
It IS a slideshow since SU3. And…news flash…it is not hardware related AND the end user did not cause it.
Yes, but the OP post was very vague, we all have FPS drops since the SU3 but at times and in certain areas it will drop and then run ok for the most part.
He sounded like his issue is at all times and if that’s the case, it could had been related to something aside from the general bug.
I have this problem right now and haven’t seen it before. I’m on the latest version of MSFS and my hardware is an 8086K @ 5 GHz, a 3090 @ 2 GHz and 32 GB DDR 3200 MHz RAM. I’m on Windows 10 with all latest updates applied.
What I’ve done right before I started seeing this issue include:
- updated the WT G3000 mod to 0.6.0 where I linked it to my Navigraph account
- updated Orbx Leeds Bradford to 1.1.0
Haven’t had time checking if any of these would be what is causing this. Could also be the area where I’m currently flying. This since I didn’t see the issue on takeoff but started seeing it airborne. I’m in the TBM 930 where you can see my altitude and location in the screenshot below
You should list the rest of your hardware, your mods installed.
I have the same gpu and my 2060super is often maxed out paired with an i7 10700kf
No issues here except some locations stutter.
Try disable the vsync on game and lock the fps to 30 on nvidia control panel. Did the job for me, I know, 30 fps its not ideal, but now I have a much more fluid experience.
Not sure what other parts of my hardware would be relevant here?
The mods I’m using include the mod for the TBM 930 and the WT mod for the G3000.
I’m pretty confident this has nothing to do with settings since it was working just fine yesterday. Haven’t changed a single setting since.
Looks like the actual culprit likely has been identified and as I guessed, it was related to the newest version of the G3000 mod.
For anyone interested, see below link for more details
So it’s pretty weird…
I usually (95% of the time) have NO issues with frames. I had a REALLY weird flight yesterday in TBM with 6.0 of the G3000 mod… I left an airport… somewhere in Eastern Europe, I think… About a 200 NM flight. I was at somewhat decent frames there. Throughout the flight and towards my approach, the framerate deteriorates to 2-5 FPS to the point where it took 4 times as long to fly and land cause it was a slideshow. I changed settings from Ultra back to High End with NO impact at all. No FPS were recovered… The sim hung on exit after the flight was over. Mind you, that flight involved NO custom airport or scenery. It was a default thing with European flatlands everywhere. I did have some gnarly clouds, but that also normally doesn’t cause the issue.
I did another flight after restarting the sim from the same place I landed into another airport nearby (I am doing another world tour right now) in the same TBM and everything was fine and I had no issues. I was able to put my settings back to Ultra.
Something happens sometimes with the sim glitching and I believe it may be a memory leak. Changing settings doesn’t fix anything. In any case, I usually don’t have issues with FPS, so this is a random weird thing. But it may be the same thing on your end? Just happening more often?
Check the post just above yours
We have a winner. The key fits the lock. Navigraph user here with that very issue. Hopefully, this gets fixed soon. Gonna avoid G3000 aircraft for now.
…or you can revert to the previous version until they’ve released a fix. As mentioned in the linked thread, they think they already found what was causing the problem and have already addressed it internally
True… But there is a lot of aircraft to fly… The only two affected by this are TBM and Longitude… and it doesn’t happen all the time, so… I can wait.
