Randomly Today Microsoft Flight Simulator decides it will not Continue to complete launch through it’s .exe or through steam library play button.
Description: I click the .exe/play the window appears accompanied with the loading wheel. The window remains black. Window then closes without any error message. In Steam Library Microsoft Flight Simulator defaults back to play.
Things which may have contributed: I recently shifted directories linked to my scenery workshop folder. That I open up only when Dev mode is enabled.
I have this game shared through steam family share (another account which is no longer in use, but has purchased Microsoft Flight Simulator.) - I recently verified my account again & Re-linked with account on my computer. Didn’t resolve anything.
Things that I’ve tried:
- Run as administrator
- verified integrity of game cache
- Run This program compatible for windows 8
- added VCOMP140.DLL to directory (YT Tutorial)
- Removed all Files from Community
- Removed all files from Scenery workshop
- Uninstalled Game/ Re-installed Game
- Updated Drivers
[SOLVED] Changed install path to another drive then completely deleted the old install file.

Can you please tell me how you found the install path? Thank you.
The sim will ask where you want it when you install it.
I was able to do that, but I do not know how to delete the old. Still will not launch thank you for replying.
I’m not sure what you are referring to by “delete the old”.
If you are migrating from FS2020 to FS2024 and want to remove 2020, do so from the Windows main menu.
If you have any addons that were purchased from the Marketplace, some of these are causing issues with launching FS2024.
The temporary workaround is to copy all your FS2020 marketplace addon folders to the FS2024 Community folder, and delete the contents of each folder, leaving only an empty folder in the Community folder for each addon.

Is there a video tutorial of this? This explanation doesn’t really make sense to me.
How did you fix this, my problem is not different drive problem
Having the same problem is there any other way to fix this. It’s not a driver issue for me.
