I’ve accrued quite a few of the above simply for playing MSFS but I never really paid them much attention — however I’ve just learned that I might be able to use them for Marketplace purchases? I assume if I redeem them for an Xbox gift card, I will be able to somehow apply them to a Marketplace purchase? Thanks.
Yep. Get an Xbox gift card, redeem it, and you’ll have credit in your account that you can use towards Marketplace purchases. I switched my search engine to Bing and I do the daily quizzes and stuff and end up getting about $150/year worth of MS points.

I’m confused as there appear to be two types of gift card: Microsoft, and Xbox. The former will only allow me to redeem points worth £1.25, whereas the latter is either £5, £10 or £25. Are both valid for Marketplace purchases?
On the MS Rewards site I can get a £5 gift card in exchange for a minimum of 5,890 points; however in the Xbox desktop PC app, it says I can auto-redeem £5 for only 5,420 points. I selected auto-redeem and it seems to have acknowledged, but said I must wait for a confirmation email (due within 24 hours) in order to use. Thing is, I’ve received nothing, despite those 24 hours having now elapsed. Is this feature somehow broken? There’s no acknowledgement in my account when viewed on the main Rewards site, with my full points balance still being displayed and the redeem function still selectable.
