Milviz C310R Official Thread

Honestly like I said I’ve watched many videos of simmers flying this thing including zkdos and have yet to see a smooth landing out of anyone. Even your inhouse tutorial video ended with a decent bump on touchdown (I clocked it at around 200fpm according to the gauge),

I watched some of 310pilots real life videos but didn’t get much out of them due to not being able to clearly see his power and speed settings. His landing certainly seemed smoother though so maybe it’s due to limitations in the sim vs reality.

This guy seems to do OK …

Looks like he flew his whole circuit with the parking brake on! Nice video, but the real world golden rule is to not reduce airspeed below blue line (VYSE) until on short final and certain of making the runway.

Very interesting. Seems like he slows down to 90kts quite early on and flies with quite low mp (17 or so) down to touchdown around 80 kts.

It seems I’m keeping power on too long to stay above blue line. Judging by that video I should pull back some power and trim the nose up earlier in the approach to give the plane time to slow, and myself enough time to adjust for the deceleration and sudden sink rate increase. I should hope an engine doesn’t quit on me though…

This guy is a real world c310 pilot.

I’ve come across an issue with tablet. Not sure if this has been said already but when the tablet is stowed in the door pocket, if you click on the pocket, it will change your settings. For example, I was looking around for some easter eggs and clicked on the pocket then noticed my avionics layout had changed fron gns530 to the 750. More clicks then changed the passengers which is on a separate page.

We will check this. Thanks

I usually do the same and have no problem, aim for 93kts the whole final but I usually bring flaps 20 much earlier than him

We’re not going to “fix” this cause it’s not technically broken. You could click all over the place but… once you’ve found the 9 Easter Eggs… you don’t need to…

Wow some nifty little airplane we have here! It was a true pleasure trying it out, and very interesting cabin comfort options and engine overhaul and engine failure options!

Very nice plane, very lively! I also love the engine sound.
Hope you don´t hate me for that, but increasing the ground effect parameter in the config +0,5 made it for me, flare enabled.

Herbert

For most peoples here this post tells nothing. Can you be more specific ? Which config, what line to change and what are the final numbers. Thanks

And that’s what happens when you let your aircraft idle without choks as you go grab something you left in the car!!!
I think I read about that in a good old FHM mag, happened in Australia but I came across an article again not long ago and it mentioned that it happened in NZ

At your own risk: flight_model.cfg, lift_coef_ground_effect_mach_table =0.534000:1.550000

This game absolutely has some character! There is a meter for cabin comfort, there are engine failures when starting with full-throttle, this aircraft truly has character! And I absolutely like that (even if I think the interior is truly very ugly…)

The seats are so ugly and have no headrest. This is what a real Cessna 310 looks like:

The good news is I am working on it, the bad news is … I don´t have 3D modelling skills that´s why I cannot recreate these gorgeous seats :frowning:

Here is the interior overhaul I am currently working on… I have noticed that there is not one single cabin and interior texture that´s why I decided to make one based on the real Cessna 310

Not all cabins interiors are the same of course. I’ve never seen a real 310 that had seats with headrests!

MAP varying to keep speed right?
Remember to adjust MAP to control rate of descent and use angle of attack (pitch trim) to set speed. If you do it the other way around, you keep chasing the numbers. I am afraid a lot of simmers do not use the proper procedure.

Just wanted to say, I am in love with this machine.

It’s not the aircraft per se, more the Milviz-ness of it. I mean, the attention to detail, the sounds, the feel, the fear factor, the overall (and yes I am not a pilot) realism it seems to impart to me. Getting this plane in the air and down again safely gives me a sense of satisfaction I have rarely experienced in the sim till now.

It clearly has been a labour of love from the dev team and I just want to say my personal thanks for such a gem. Of course it goes without saying that, despite the tough times we have seen in the sim, it is, for me at least in great shape and thanks must be equally shared with the Asobo/MICROSOFT team for all their hard work.

I don’t know what came over me. All those nice words. I’m gonna have a lie down.

i personaly use these in flight_model.cfg:
lift_coef_ground_effect_mach_table =0.054:1.25
its enough to enable flare.

it’s all a matter of taste of course. While to me those beige seats are actually several shades of horrible, I totally agree that the head rests look much better. Also when looking at pictures of 310R’s on the internet, it apears that the head rests were very common in the late C310 models (while totally absent from the early models)

So I would also vote for a change in the seats’ 3D models to include head rests. But I guess it’s not a vital detail. If I got time I might give the interior an overhaul though and put some dark grey seats in
