Milviz C310R Official Thread

I’m in love with this plane.

One thing that would be REALLY cool…if you guys could somehow incorporate Navigraph into the efb so that people with subscriptions could view charts on it. I’m not sure how feasible it is, just throwing the idea out there.

Revisiting the question of range:
I’ve been studying the manual (not only R’ingTDM lol), and I’m a little confused by the range chart. The max fuel capacity of the MilViz C310R as I understand it from the manual is 163 gal = 978 lbs. The chart has a scale for 1218 lbs but I’m guessing that’s using an extra fuel configuration not simulated here? Am I correct in reading the chart for our purposes as having an estimated range of ~1125 nmi @ 12,000 ft with max fuel (978 lbs)?

If you use the TDN GTN750Xi, you get two separate GPS units. Garmin as an optional feature that allows you to send the flight plan in one GPS unit to the other, but it isn’t currently implemented in the TDN version. If you want the same flight plan in both units you have to program both units. You can definitely program each unit with a unique flight plan. The only thing that isn’t clear to me is whether there is a switch in the C-310 that will tell the autopilot which navigation system to use. If there isn’t, it shouldn’t be hard to implement. This is something that would be nice to have in the C-414 as well.

An Easter Egg question (hidden to prevent spoilage)....

So what exactly am I doing when I’m clicking on the monkey and cracking the whip?

@ravenwings27 Yes. The MilViz 310R has 978 lbs useable fuel and good for 1152 nm at 10,000ft. With models that have the extra wing locker tanks, usable fuel goes to 1218 lbs and good for 1511 nm. Download the PDF in the description of my YT video. It is filled with all this info and numerous other tables from the original POH.

I think I could look into this possibility!

You’re just adding one of the 9 possible cosmetic items throughout the plane.

Hey - leave me alone — !!!

Any UK Reg Repaints for this plane? I hate using the sim to add a Reg to an airplane, as it then adds it to all planes. Beyond annoying!!! Unless I am missing something. I know you can remove it, but I often forget.

There is a Nav1/Nav2 switch. Granted I haven’t tested it yet with the GTN, so I’m unsure if it functions as intended. But, I’d be surprised if it didn’t given the fidelity of the aircraft.

He’s a little bit ocd in the head like me… Makes me feel better…

Pre PMDG
The very act of me using using a Ryan air A320 livery was very hard pill to swallow… Or anything that isn’t factual, to fly any route without using a factual aircraft livery or type really goes against the fur (ever patted a cat going against the fur… you will know what I mean…) gosh I cant even do a simbrief without trying to find a actual flight number for an actual airliner…
To fly an unpainted aircraft or fly aimlessly on routes with another airlines livery (KLM on a Auckland-Wellington route…) forget it!!

Gosh maybe my partner is right when she said that I have problems

Final into JFK. Wow very busy airport. I am on a mid range PC locked at 30 fps and it runs great for the most part. But on short final i dropped to 20 fps there was a bunch of a320’s waiting in line to depart.
It was so crazy I usually stay away from Hotspots.

Given how difficult the fuel system is to work, even without the 20 gallon wing locker tanks, it may have been a good decision to leave them out.

As the diagram shows, that extra 20 gallon is only accessible by transferring it to the same side main (wing tip) tank, if and when there is room. You cannot just “switch to” the locker tank the way you can with the auxiliaries.

It also depends on the fuel pump being functional of course. Presumably a sensible and safe fuel management procedure would involve getting the fuel out of those locker tanks as early in the flight as possible.

Nice! Totally agree!

Is this ever coming to the OrbX Store? Been waiting to buy it there for ease of upgrading and it’s still not there. I mean, when the MSFS freaking Marketplace launches before you do…

I’ve had two CTD when flipping on the Avionics Master. One the very first time I got into the cockpit on launch day, and another just now. I’ve flown it a bunch of times in between with no problem.

Anyone else have it happen to them?

Well … it is on the store to look at … you just cannot buy it yet

Thanks. Yeah, I’ve been meaning to check that out. I think it just slaves whatever the nav2 radio is set to the HSI, but I’d obviously be delighted if it switched to using the second gtn.

Making study-level GA planes with intense system depth (instead of keeping all the good things reserved to airliners only) is absolutely BEAUTYFUL!!

During the FSX era all GA airplanes never offered any kind of realism or realistic behaving gauges, or any kind of failures damages realism or being in need of being good to the engines.
This has drastically changed with the Piper Arrow and the Milviz C310

Did A2A completely pass you by? They were making planes as complex as this one for FSX.
