Minimum Specifications for MSFS 2024

Wouldn’t the most sensible option be to wait until you try it, see how it runs, and then upgrade if you are dissatisfied? That’s my plan.

That might be a very good option for anyone patient enough.

i get 50-70 fps now, but when i pan pauses and stutters are haunting me.

I am asking the same question. Looks like a typo. Is it Ryzen 9 7900x or 7 7700x?

I remember when they first mentioned possible specs for 2024 being similar to 2020, I was ecstatic. Once I saw the minimum CPU went to a i7 from an i5, I was highly disappointed, cause I wasn’t going to spend $400 to upgrade from my i5-8400, and all my other specs do match for at least minimum recommendations, so now I am pretty much outpriced to even get 2024,

Hello, R9 7900X would be better than R7 7800X3D with Msfs2024? Because currently with all games it is the 7800X3D that gives better performance.

It should run similar to FS2020 on your CPU. The most important improvement in FS2024 is better usage of available CPU cores, which is likely why they went from min-speccing a 4-core CPU for FS2020 to a 6-core CPU for FS2024 and yours does have 6 cores.

So my i5-8400 with 6 cores should run 2024? I can always try Xbox Game Pass for PC before purchasing the actual sim, so I don’t spend an arm and a leg to fly 2024. In other research, the difference between an I5 and I7 is the I5 is 6 core (6 threads) and the I7 is 6 cores but 12 threads.

I kindly ask if my Intel configuration can also work for FS2024
13th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i5-13600KF 3.50 GHz
32,0 GB
rtx 4070 super

Here is a link to the requirements:

the table only indicates i7 processors so i5 processors no longer even meet the minimum requirements?

No, it doesn’t seem as they will.
I wouldn’t give up hope, I know a few folks who run MSFS quite nicely below the minimum specks.
I wouldn’t preorder it though.

isn’t a 13th gen Intel i5 generally more powerful than a 6th gen Intel i7?

Here’s a comparison of the two CPUs in terms of processing strength:

  1. Intel Core i5-13600KF (13th Gen)
  • Architecture: Raptor Lake
  • Cores/Threads: 14 cores (6 performance cores + 8 efficiency cores) / 20 threads
  • Base Clock Speed: 3.5 GHz (Performance cores)
  • Boost Clock Speed: Up to 5.1 GHz
  • Cache: 24 MB SmartCache
  • TDP: 125W
  • Fabrication Process: Intel 7 (10nm Enhanced SuperFin)
  • PCIe Support: PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0
  • Memory Support: DDR4 and DDR5
  1. Intel Core i7-6800K (Broadwell-E)
  • Architecture: Broadwell-E
  • Cores/Threads: 6 cores / 12 threads
  • Base Clock Speed: 3.4 GHz
  • Boost Clock Speed: Up to 3.6 GHz
  • Cache: 15 MB SmartCache
  • TDP: 140W
  • Fabrication Process: 14nm
  • PCIe Support: PCIe 3.0
  • Memory Support: DDR4

Yes. Generally speaking, a mid-range CPU from 2022 (e.g. i5-13600KF) will have superior performance to a high-end CPU from 2016 (e.g. i7-6800K).

To answer @BROWNVIC’s question: yes, your PC components appear more than good enough to meet the MSFS2024 Recommended Specs.

Thanks,

Hi there, I fall in the minimum category as I only have 16GB of Ram…

Thanks for the reply, it makes me very happy.
the spec table scared me, I imagine other i5 owners too

Then they need to put the minimum specs for both I5s and I7s. It’s confusing a lot of people.

Hi again. I have an Intel i7-10750H, would that work with the MSFS 2024?

Would that also apply to an i5-8400 as well?

Thanks for the explanation!
