Missing haze (visibility) inside METAR vicinity

Description of the issue: haze in not displayed in METAR zones where reported visibility is limited

Provide time and date of the observed weather issue: Sept. 6th, 2025. I updated the time (without affecting Live Weather) to day time

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? always

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. look at Meteoblue visibility map for an airport where visibility is reported as limited
  2. enable Live Weather
  3. spawn at the airport, display the METAR information from the EFB. Notice that visibility is unlimited instead of matching the value reported in the METAR

Issue seems to be fixed in 1.5.24.0:

Whenever visibility is lower than 10 km, visibility seems to be correctly represented. But when METAR indicates 9999, visibility seems to be unlimited always. This is rarely the case in real life, the atmosphere is almost never as clear as in MSFS.

And I just learned that the humidity slider is gone in FS2024 :exploding_head:. So the only way to reduce visibility is to place a cloud layer at ground level. Meanwhile the “other” simulator does simulate haze in live weather and gives the user precise control over RVR / visibility…

By the way, I think this thread is really about fog or mist, rather than haze.
