Have copied 2 Community Mods into my Packages folder
(C:\Flight Simulator\Packages\Community) confirmed as correct as C:\Flight Simulator\Packages\Official is 106Gb in Size
May just be having a Doh! moment but I am sure that with the official update there was a mechanism to ‘Install’ the items currently ‘Not Installed’.
YES, I have right clicked every ■■■■ thing on this screen and cannot see how to install them.
YES, The directory structure is correct, as they would not show up in here otherwise
You don’t install them. Assuming they are unpacked correctly in the Community folder and aren’t conflicting with each other, they should be active.
For what I assume is scenery for Stonehenge, you simply need to set up a flight, fly over the location and see if the Mod took effect. Presumably, the author provided screenshots to show you what the Mod does to the location. You can pause and confirm it matches up.
Best practice is to shut down the program before adding or removing anything. Of course, this isn’t possible if you’re making changes through the Marketplace, so when you’re done there, just restart. I found this out the hard way when I installed the free Paderborn package. I installed it via the Marketplace, then tried to start a flight there. It didn’t work…
Thanks for the comments and solution, all make sense now. I agree that it would be nice to have it re-index without rebooting as loading isn’t exactly swift. The very least needed is a few more words after the >MORE INFO Waiting [OK] pop-up screen. Such as “Waiting for next application restart” … would have avoided the question being asked I am sure.
Still… loving the game !! All in VR on a pretty well spec’d rig. Everything on Medium-High and getting decent FPS.
