Missing packages

I know there are other topics similar to this but I couldn’t find a similar situation to mine.

I switched off my PC from a successful session. Returning an hour later when I logged in at the Update Installation page a pop-up displayed informing me I had some missing packages. I searched the forums and found instances of this but no real solution other than the hammer to crack a nut and full reinstall.

On one particular solution a suggestion was made to remove a file from the ‘Official’ folder which a did removing the A320neo. When I restarted the application it went through the usual splash screens then prompted me to put back the missing aircraft which I did.

The system then prompted me that New packages are available with an option to Install or Update later. I chose to Update later and the process completed putting me in the Welcome Screen. I then got curious and decided to click on the bell where the update was waiting. After a while I was back to square one with the essential packages missing.

No idea what they are and whilst I have a desire to find out I have no desire to try again if it means starting the whole process again.

My system says I’m on 1.33.8.0

Any thoughts?

Edit: When I leave the application and restart it the Missing Packages message returns and I’m locked out once again

Hello,

We ask that people not use General Discussion for help, advice, or troubleshooting. I have moved your post to Tech Talk, where people discuss installation topics, among other things.

Like others who have been beset my the completely uninformative message when something fails I have reinstalled my MSFS to resolve the issue.

Would be nice if developers felt it useful to identify exactly what is missing but then that is probably asking too much.
