On the wild British Columbia West Coast, emergencies and natural crises are all too common. I recently found an RCAF Rescue livery for the DC-3 and I could easily imagine a past crisis with a sinking fishing vessel or somebody (AGAIN!) getting lost in the mountains. So I decided to fly a imaginary rescue mission with the DC-3 from Vancouver (CYVR) to Port Hardy (CYZT) on the northern part of Vancouver Island to deliver critically needed rescue equipment or personnel. Some screenshots of the flight:
I used real weather while flying along the mainland coast: it looked a touch better than it was out here in Abbotsford at the time.
But it was rather threatening at t imes!
But a rainbow emphasised the hope being delivered by the rescue mission
Looked awful coming into Port Hardy
And finally on the ground with all resources on their way!
The DC-3 has joined the Bonanza, C172 and Beaver as my favourite aircraft in the sim
