Mods in Community File not active

Here’s the problem:
When I turn on developer mode and look where my active community folder is, it points to the C drive.
However, the mods there are not active.
Since I installed the FS2020 on drive G, there is also a community folder there and so far all the mods I installed there have also taken effect.
Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. No matter in which community folder I save the mods, they no longer take effect.
Why does the path in the developer menu point to a different drive and why do my mods no longer take effect?

Thanks a lot
Bodo

I don’t think, you are using the wrong location. Maybe, the mods aren’t installed properly, f.e the A320X doesn’t work, if you are putting im the extracted file. You need to open the extracted file and copy the includings in. Which addons you try to install?

Thank you for your feedback. I already know that you have to unzip the file. Previously, all mods were active. The problem is that not only a specific mod does not work but all do not appear. I have no Aircraft there. Only Sceneries like Airports and Cities. F.E. Meigs Airport.

If it is aircraft liveries that are missing, and all the other mods show up,
I am wondering if a livery is causing a conflict.
Did you try adding them one livery at a time? (don’t use a package when you try)

Inside your C:/Appdata should be a folder named “Flight.Simulator-RandomLetters&Numbers”. In one of its subfolders is a file named “content.cfg”. This file registers the community content. After deleting it and restarting the simulator, the file will rebuild. Maybe that is the solution.

Tank You!
No, I did not add a single aircraft. Only airports and city sceneries. None of these scenarios are displayed. However, they used to. That’s why I’m wondering.

Tank you!
I have scanned the whole C: drive. The content.cfg file you mentioned does not exist on my computer.

It does, you will not find it with scanning, it is hard to find.

Thank you again!
Have now looked again. Everything up to Packages is available. However, the folder microsoft.FlightSimulator… is missing.
Please see next message

When I go to
G:\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-3589125545-845552300-4046202626-1005\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache there is a usercfg.opt file and a content.xml file in which I can see some of my mods. But not that file you mentioned.

There are multiple directions of that folder. Why ever MSFS creates them in different paths, maybe you will also find it under other Users like Admin, Default, or other create Windows Profiles. It must be there for sure. I also have to correct myself, it is a .XML file and not an .cfg.

Thank you very much for your effort. I have now also looked under the default user but there is nothing like that. After I have installed the FS2020 in drive G, I will now rename the file there. It is also interesting that my directory looks exactly like yours, only the rolling cache is not there. I’ll get back to you and thanks again!!!

Yeah, the installation paths are pretty confusing. Sometimes it seems MSFS installs something on every drive :stuck_out_tongue:

Is everything working again? Would be nice to know!

Hello EpicPrimus,

Nice to hear from you!
Well, unfortunately I had no more success with the previous installation on the G drive. However, I did generate an error message with a number of records. My suspicion that there are problems with installing the FS2020 on a non-standard drive has been confirmed. After an installation on C:, everything worked smoothly. I am curious to see how Asobo will react.
How is your installation going?

My problems always appeared when I installed a patch. However, I do not rule out the possibility that I may have made mistakes myself. Perhaps I overlooked specifying the G drive. I don’t know. I still have my gigabytes of the flightsim.to website on the G drive and use a programme that only creates a link to my G disk in the community folder. For now, all is well.
