No Brief description of the issue:
I was on short final after a 3 hour flight when the sim crashed. This was frustrating, but it wasn’t a problem until I re-opened my sim and out of no where, majority (but not all) of my mods are showing up as “not installed” in the content manager and aren’t showing up in the sim.
Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:
I assume after the CTD and restarting the sim that it gave you the option of starting in ‘safe mode’ and you agreed? When in Safe mode content in your Community folder is disabled to isolate anything in there that may be causing CTDS.
Looks like this issue surfaced after WU4.
Now it has surfaced again after SU7. Many of my ADDONS SHOW UP AS NOT INSTALLED. IN THE PAST, AT LEAST PEOPLE WERE ABLE TO SEE THEM IN THE SIM AND USE THE “NOT INSTALLED” AIRCRAFT AND SCENERY. NOW NOT SO.
I have tried emptying the Community folder and restarting the sim and then closed. Then added the community folder content again but still no go.
Cannot use some of the new freeware aircraft that were usable before SU7.
CTD did happen sometimes but not consistent at all.
Thanks for the suggestion. Hoiwever,
Removing everything in the community folder (same as loading the sim in Safe mode) would not actually recreate the issue as the main problem is that the items in Community folder show as Uninstalled - which previously showed up just fine..
The additional full step to removing all Mods is to also delete the existing Content.xml. Restart the sim and let it rebuild it. It’s the Content.xml that is still referencing the Community mods.
Thank you for your help.
I renamed the old file and have let MSFS create a new one. NO luck. Will keep trying to find the solution!
The addon aircraft just won’t show up in the content or “My Hanger”.
The scenery does not seem to have any issues though!
