Moon before cloud?

Brief description of the issue:

see screenshot below. There’s a (now locked) thread about star on wrong layer, where people suspect it’s because cloud becomes transparent or something. But if you look at my screenshot, it really looks more like the moon is placed further to the foreground than the cloud.

Provide coordinates (DevMode > Options > Display position)

Should be irrelevent but this happened near Okinawa, Japan.

According to screenshot timestamp, it’s 10 Oct 2022, 09:34 Zulu.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Basically you need high clouds and full moon just rising above the horizon to see this. It’s 18:45 local time when this was observed.

Latest SU10 release as of today (sim not running now)

Its a day 0 issue. The render spheres for moon and stars are closer than some clouds. See stars and the moon floating in front of nearby clouds under daylight (Zoom in, search near the moon).

It is not adressed to be fixed soon because of a handful of bean counters, the majority of user dont care about. I try to ignore it meanwhile, although this is not easy, you know :wink:
