The new version of OpenXR was released. 112.2209.2003 I installed it and tested it out.
It has completely resolved the issue for me!! I can now keep the focus on MSFS window in the foreground and it’s great because I don’t have to keep alt-tabbing when I need to interact with the cockpit using the mouse. MR maintains it lock at 45, 30, and 23 FPS!
The “problem” is reversed now. If I bring any window to the foreground now, the framerate tanks in MSFS. This includes hitting the Windows Key to pull open the WMR menu in VR and it’s janky/jittery and almost not useable.
@mbucchia a note here on OpenXR Toolkit as well.. because now when I pull open the Toolkit Overlay, the “framerate” for the overlay is jittery, and if you move your head around it blurs. This overlay used to be butter smooth before the OpenXR update. Just FYI!
Overall, this is a great thing, as I really don’t need (or want) any windows other than MSFS in the foreground while in VR. And I typically turn off the Toolkit overlay in my sessions unless i’m testing something. Curious to see what others results are!
