Motion simulation

Anyone here have a motion sim rig?

I was just wondering if it works well with monitors as opposed to VR?

How many degrees of freedom ?

I’ve been monitoring this thread using the V3.

Yes. I have a 6dof rotary sim rig home built. Can’t fly without it now. Use it for 2d and vr flights. Very authentic experience. VR probably a better experience as I only have 1 monitor. 3 monitors would be perfect, but difficult to mount on moving rig (perhaps my mk ii) Even home built not cheap for 6dof rotary. 6x motors and 6 x gearbox plus motion controllers was over $3,500 Aud. Then bought an off the shelf rig which I bolted onto the home built rig for $400 Aud. Can do much cheaper builds for 2 and 3 dof, but truly 6dof is hard to go backwards on.

That’s really awesome and cheap, considering the prices around…
Could you share your build?

I don’t really have plans to share. I have.YouTube profile DingoMotion which shows some early examples of the build and go to xsimulator and look at motion4sim profile which is where essentially I copied my build from

It was more to share pics/videos of it working. I already know about xsimulator. Thanks anyway.

Not the best quality video production but hopefully gives you an idea :slightly_smiling_face:

Haven’t done an msfs2020 video, but similar to using xp11

Yeah, thanks for sharing. Great setup. How much weight can you put there?

80st motors (750W with 3000rpm) and 15A drivers . 1:50 gear ratio. Currently carries circa 150kg. Did the calcs for max which I can’t find but it could carry much more but would want to bolster the pushrods which are basic retic pipe with something a bit thicker :slightly_smiling_face:
