Mouse bug , No registration of clicks in homescreen and pointer missing completely in game

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Since yesterday I came across the very annoying bug that my mouse doesn’t register clicks.
The pointer does appear right after loading the game but doesn’t register clicks so entering the game is not possible.
Then after I enter the game with the controller, the mousepointer completely disappears.
The mouse works perfect on a pc or laptop so the problem isn’t in the mouse.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Every time I start the simulator.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

1.USB connect in the Xbox series X, I have tried unplugging and plugging with Xbox power on, off and even in the game itself also.
2.Start the game
3.Mouse not working, restart xbox/game , after that only restart game, still doesn’t work.

If you also have a keyboard connected, start up without the keyboard and confirm the mouse is working first. Then plug the keyboard in. For some reason, the order they are connected matters.

The usb for the keyboard is in but the keyboard is never connected and power of the keyboard is also off. it’s always off in a drawer.
I have more people in discord that have this problem.
I have done everything with usb devices and in different orders but the outcome was the same every time.
Maybe if more people having this and reply on this post , the develop team reads it and try to fix it.

• When I unplug te mouse, it disapear in the command menu. When it replug, it re-appear but nothhing work

I unplug keyboard and mouse, reboot xbox, load the game, plug the keyboard and the mouse. All work properly

• Yes, I have the exact same issue.

• My Logitech USB mouse is completely unusable with the XBOX Series X version of the game since the last update. Cursor is only visible in the welcome screen and the clicks are not registered.

My mouse pointer is visible but I cannot click on any of the cockpit items. Throttle, mixture, etc. Is there some place where I need to set up the mouse pointer?

Same issue. Occured with SU1 beta. Disappeared when I reverted to older version. Recurred with SU1.

My Logitech USB mouse (two different units) was working under prior update but is now unusable with the XBOX Series X version of MSFS2024 since the lastest update. Cursor is only visible in the welcome screen and mouse clicks are not registered. If controller is used to get past welcome screen, the mouse pointer disappears. I attempted the various remedies suggested by other users but was unsuccessful.

• besides that, i can’t start any Passenger Transport anymore . No chance to press the “start Mission” button wether by mouse nore Xbox Controller. Game gets completly stuck.

I’ve lost all function of my mouse on my Xbox series X. Been going on for a few days now. Just on the basic sim update 2. Was hoping to stay on something stable and wouldn’t change. But obviously not. Have tried restarting, plugging mouse directly into the Xbox instead of through a hub. Many restarts of 2024. But the game is completely useless now without being able to click on anything with the mouse. Have also tried another wired mouse.

Also have crossed checked with 2020 on my Xbox and everything works perfectly.

• I’ve had this problem in msfs2024 since the v2 update in X Box series X. The game loads to home screen and I can move the curser with the mouse but left (or right) clicking the start button does not work. Mouse button totally unresponsive. I’ve gone back to msfs 2020 - all good there !

I had the same problem, but on XBOX S and I solved it.
My mouse and keyboard are connected to a USB hub. I recently wanted to try a new mouse and a more compact keyboard. It worked fine until this morning.

When starting FS2024, I could see the cursor arrow, but I couldn’t click on the START button with either the right or left click.I tried it several times. It wasn’t a hardware issue, because when I launched another game like SIMS 4, the mouse responded perfectly.

I swapped the keyboard and mouse USB ports on the HUB, shut down the console completely (unplugged the power cable) and restarted everything. And now the mouse works fine again with FS2024 :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: .

• Same issue but on Xbox Series X and not on any beta version of MS2024. Mouse cursor moves on screen but no left-clicking on the mouse works no matter if in the Start/Accessibility screen or any other location in the sim

Just bumping this issue as it is continuing for me. None of the suggested fixes in other forums worked on my end, so sadly I have not been able to enjoy the game since Spring.

I assume that on Xbox, your keyboard and mouse are connected via a USB HUB.

:small_orange_diamond: Try reversing the positions of the USB connections between the keyboard and mouse.

There’s no need to shut down FS2024; you can unplug and replug both USB ports when the simulator is on screen with the “Start” box. The mouse should appear again, but this time with active buttons.

I had the problem several times on XBox S (I haven’t tried on my X) and each time the problem occurred because I had changed the position of the keyboard/mouse/hotas/controller connections.

Strange. :face_with_diagonal_mouth: It seems that the location where peripherals are connected is sensitive, and in some cases, there are conflicts (priorities) that are poorly managed.

I’ve had the same problem for over a month in the xbox series x SU2 update. Can’t get beyond the home screen. Mouse cursor moves but clicks are unresponsive. Gone back to msfs 2020 !!

I am in Xbox series X and mouse doesn’t work for me even when switching ports on the console. But mainly, it is a mixed bag for me. Some sessions, cursor and cllick works in menus only. In the aircraft, no clicks but a moving cursor. Probably 1:12, I will get a working mouse and clickable buttons inside the aircraft and menus. Not swapping the USB ports or anything. I have tried deleting the cache and profile too. It is all a roll of the dice. Mouse works fine 100% of the time in the web browser on the xbox only.
