Mouse Collision Mesh in 2024

Does the 3D positioning of the mouse cursor look bad to anyone else? In 2020 the Asobo airplanes had some of the best collision meshes for the VR mouse.

Now the cursor doesn’t stick to surfaces.

Yeah. Having the same problem. It’s a pain to use. The G1000 Knobs are practically unusable this way. Trying to edit the flight plan in legacy mode is really painfull.

Yep huge step backwards again, so disappointing.

Considering a bug report but I’m not sure enough people would be bothered by it to vote on or know that it could be better.

Please write the bug report. I already made four and two of them are logged. And this is another huge one. People will vote. Consider yourself a beta tester in a paid early access. They need the feedback to make things better. As frustrating as it is.

Have one here, 3D Mouse Position on G1000s in VR Looks Bad - Bug Reporting Hub / Virtual Reality (VR) - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums, although specific to the G1000.

Yeah, the cursor goes below the knob. I start feeling cross eyed.

Yes, it is a total mess for me too.

Is this the issue where the vr controller cursor is not accurate to where its pointed? Like having to point off the button to trigger it? I’m having that issue and it’s not even usable on the quest controllers.

It may be. If you think off normal (x, y) plane, it is probably correct. It’s the z plane that is messed up. It causes:

  • Cursor to behind models
  • Cursor to float over models
  • Cursor will be suddenly jumping up and down the z axis as you move it around
  • Cursor to appear the wrong size.

Out of all the airplanes I’m flying in 2024 now, only the Draco X seems to not have major VR cursor issues. Someone did a great job on that airplane.

You can try closing your non-dominant eye to make it a little easier. Our brains have a hard time figuring out the location when the z axis is off that much.
